Need help with Bridal Shops!

Hello ladies!
I'm Amers, and I'm getting married outside of Philadelphia in July.  One of my bridesmaids lives in Pittsburg.  I got a text the other day saying that she was having problems finding "a reliable shop that was not in the ghetto".

Ladies, I've never been to Pittsburg.  I know nothing about the town except all your sports teams wear the same colors ;).  Could anyone please give me feedback on the following shops:

Four Seasons Boutique
3341 Babcock Blvd

The White Orchid
4907 Clariton Rd

Michaels Bridal Galleria
1130 Perry Highway in the Pines Plaza Shopping Center

Bridal Beginning
450 Cochran

Brides By Cadelina
1700 Monogahela Ave.

I am looking specifically for the Jasmine line, and these are the shops pulled from their website.  If you happen to know of another store that carries the B2 2078 and can reccommend it, I would greatly appriciaite it.

Thank you SOOOO very much in advance.

I don't think any of those shops are really in the ghetto. If it is just a BM dress, can't she just measure and have you buy/order from another shop?

I know MB Bride in Greensburg carries Jasmine because that is where I got my dress from that line. However, MB is notoriously bad with bridesmaids' dresses, IMO. But it is worth a shot.

My mother bought her dress for my wedding at the White Orchid and had a great experience.  I have no idea what your friend means by "ghetto," so I can't answer that part of your question, but it's located on Rt. 51 in the South Hills in a nice area.

I don't think any of the bridal salons you mentioned are 'ghetto.'  I once got a BM dress at Michaels Bridal Galleria in N.Hills - it was a pretty good experience... My cousin (whos wedding it was) got her wedding dress there and they did a great job for her as well. They were very friendly and the alterations were pretty well done...

I also got one of prom dresses at Bridal Beginning... again, a great experience.

other than that I don't know much about the others or if they carry the Jasmine line you're looking for... But I do know that, at least the two that I've been to, are not 'ghetto'

No bridal shop I have been in in Pittsburgh is in the "ghetto."  I echo good sentiments about the White Orchid.  Which is definitely in an appropriate neighborhood, safe, well lit, etc.

I've been to Brides by Candelina and they are very helpful. I would recommend them.

And Jersey - If you are being helpful and not slamming new posters as you accuse others of doing, maybe you should explain a little better... We spell our city Pittsburgh.

Micahels' Bridal Galleria is in the North HIlls and deifnitely not in the ghetto.  my mom's best friend and her daughter - in- law both got dresses there for her sons wedding.  They got a killer deal and great service!

We ordered our BM dresses from The White Orchid and had a great experience there.  I highly recommend and it is in a perfectly fine area.  :)

Little late to this, but I will second Michael's Bridal Galleria. I got my dress and all of my BMs got their dresses there. I love the place and all of the ladies that helped us were amazing. It was like working with friends instead of sales people.

    Ladies, thank you so much.

Like I said, I don't know the city at all (apparently I can't even spell it correctly ;) so I have no idea what she is considering a "ghetto" area.

I think what she did was google some shops and looked at the reviews online, and couldn't find any good reviews..  I think we all know that people usually only post reviews when they are upset about their service.  I'll trust a fellow Knottie any day then some Google review.

    THanks again!

My mother has shopped at The Four Seasons Boutique for years.  It's in a North Hills suburb (Ross) of Pittsburgh.  She got her MOG gown there for my brother's wedding.  Michael's would be very close to there.  I just ordered my gown from The Bridal Beginning, and I had a good experience there.  It is in a South Hills suburb (Mt. Lebanon) of Pittsburgh.  I'm not familiar with The White Orchid, but I've heard good things.

I got my dress at Bridal Beginning.  My mom got her dress there for my wedding & for my brother's two years ago.  It's a nice, little store with friendly help.  One downside is, it has a small parking lot.  But if your friend makes an appt. she should be okay.  GL!
