"Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make life so, right in the middle of it we die, lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce." - Natalie Goldberg
Ahhh, you guys are so great. Thanks for all the vibes. I feel very warm and fuzzy now! I wish I'd had a chance to see your responses before the interview, but I'm sure the vibes were working their magic anyway.
I think it went okay. But of course, I'm a perfectionist, and I'm kicking myself for every question I didn't answer more thoroughly. I'm kind of stressing over it. There were three people interviewing me, which I think was the whole local branch of the organization! One asked me to email her one page on why I want to do the job. So I guess that's good--they want to hear more.
They said I asked good questions, so that's good! I also used Cate's "soft close" technique (well, as much as I could squeeze in). It did give me a chance to address a couple things. (Thanks, Cate!)
So now it's all about the follow-up. I need to get that email sent today and thank-you notes done ASAP.
I hate talking about myself and BS-ing. Interviews blow and are stressful! GAH! Thanks again for the good wishes, everyone.
ETA: Forgot to answer the questions about what kind of job it is! It's a part-time Admin Assistant for a non-profit. The organization has several programs to help improve lower-income neighborhoods and quality of life for their residents. I actually live right in the middle of one of the areas they're working on. I love it here--old house, pretty view of the lake, and I think the area has so much potential, which I got to tell them in the interview, yay.
Yay, glad it went well, that you're all ready to follow up, and that you have a step up on the competition by actually living in one of the affected areas!
