Wow, that is one brave woman! She's good with the gun too. Honestly, I would do the same in her position which is why H got a gun for us in the first place.
I also can't believe she lost her hubsand on Christmas day, how terrible, but she seems to be a strong woman.

I was thinking the photo was fairly recent. I dunno, I guess I just figure most 18-year-olds marry people in their 20's. Probably he was a good bit older, but I can't seem to find an obituary for him.
Hey... I saw that on the news! I think i had seen somewhere that the husband was in fact a lot older than her, like 58, and they had been together for 2 years....but that is OKlahoma for you...Ha.
Eitherway, that is a brave thing to do! They say the guy she killed was a creepy guy from her past that followed her around at rodeos 2 years prior....I wonder if there is a back story...
I can't get over how calm and rational she sounded on the 911 call. I'm not sure I'd be able to keep it together so well! And how smart of her to put a bottle in the baby's mouth to keep him/her from crying. She's definitely got a tough road ahead of her as a young Mom & widow, but hopefully that pedophile (yes, a 58 year old who has been with an 18 year old for 2 years is a pedophile) left her some money in his will so she'll be able to take care of her child. I have a feeling she'll be just fine, though, with that strength of character. She'd make a fantastic policewoman, don't you think? Really calm in a crisis, and an excellent shot!

<div>Thumbs up! She'd need some counseling though, to realize that there was something wrong with her marriage age difference. I would hate for her to respond to a pedophile and be like, NBD! Carry on!</div>

Okay, so because I'm such a reader I like to read comments and did anyone else notice the comment about protecting her first amendment rights. Umm... Last time I checked the first amendment was freedom of speech, not the right to bear arms... I mean.. I get the posters point, but really?
And yeah..her H had to of been a lot older than her..
That's sad she lost her husband and so young with a child. FI is a big believer in having a concealed carry and is getting it in February. He wants me to get one too when I'm old enough

Wow, so scary.
I still stand by the fact that her husband was a pedophile, but I honestly don't judge her for the situation. A young girl who was not in contact with her parents living with a 55 year old man is understandably drawn to him. It's up to the adult to maintain a respectable distance, if she was a legitimate boarder when she was 15 years old rather than already in a romantic relationship with him when she moved in.
I get choked up listening to the dispatcher say, "You do what you have to do to protect your baby." I don't know how she held it together so well, I am completely in awe of her strength.

Agree by the looks of that photo he has to be in his 50s now right? That is one old school photo.
