Bad mojo

I want to start this off saying that this is just a statement of facts, not a judgement. First my uncle divorced my aunt in a very ugly divorce and recently married his mistress. Then I found out two weeks ago that a very good friend from college is seperated from her husband. Today would have been their 2 year anniversary. Last night we met for the first time with our pastor who is divorced. Then today I find out that my best friend's husband asked her for a divorce. She's a BM and I was her BM. Their 4 year anniversary is in 2 weeks. Just had to get that out of my head. I haven't been around a lot of divorce in my life so it just seems like its happening all at once.

    Unfortunately, its a very hard fact in life.  Many marriages do end in divorce.  You may be just realizing it more because you're wedding is coming up.  Kind of like when you buy a car and all of a sudden tons of people have that car, even though you swear no one had it before you bought yours!

    I think part of it is that these are all people that no one saw it coming. Not couples that had problems from day 1. I know it can happen to anyone of course but that adds to the shock and disbelief.

    You'll have to just chalk it up to unfortunate coincidence. It sucks but don't dwell on it. Definately be there for the BM though as being in your wedding will be a reminder of what she's going through. Take her out for lunch or dinner for a girl's night and do NWR stuff. It only becomes bad mojo if you let it.

    i'm sorry to hear about all the divorce around you! i recently found out my uncle and aunt are divorcing and it was upsetting for me.  that means everyone on my dad'd side is divorced or seperated (my parents included).  my mother's parents are divorced but her only brother is married.
    i honestly try to look at my situation in a selfish way:  i will be the only one on my dad's whole side who is maried...I'm determined to show them all that marriage can work.
