Greenery Caterers Communication

Hello all!
I hate for my first post to be slightly negative but i'm really looking for some input here. I have had a HORRIBLE time with trying to get in and see Rockwood Carriage House. The website says to email greenery for more info regarding the location so I sent an email to greenery with all my info in october and no response. Sent a different email with info in november with no response. I finally called last week and had a plesant discussion with a woman who took my basic information and said she would email me next day with some possible dates to view the venue. It's been quite a few days with no email yet. Now I know that its the holiday season and i'm sure the caterers themselves are busy, but has anyone else ever had this issue with them? Is there any way to view the carriage house without going through them? I'm eager to pick a venue and set a date so I can move forward with planning but I find this holding me upFrown

Re: Greenery Caterers Communication

  • sorry u're having the trouble. i had a slight problem getting ahold of them at first cause craige & patti were on vacation. i'd say give them till after the holidays. just keep in touch once a week or so to remind them u're interested. cause i wouldn't doubt they're booked at least 3 days a week with meeting & parties.
  • Oh no!  I looked into Carriage House, and they got back to me right away.  Within a few hours of my initial email, actually.

If I remember correctly, Greenery is the only approved caterer for Rockwood, and for most of the DE State Park venues.  I ended up going with the Clarion Belle Hotel in New Castle, because their packages were all inclusive.  Sometimes when you have an outside caterer, there can be hidden costs.  I had my dad (who was in the catering biz back in the 80s) look over all of the contracts, and he said that he thought there could be hidden costs with any of the state park places.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

  • My first few emails did not garner a response.  About 2 weeks and 4 emails in, I finally got a response.  The response was apologetic, and since then, the communication has been good.  I share your same thoughts/feelings, but ever since I've made contact, things have been fine.
  • My best friend is getting married at rockwood and they have had good communication.  It was probably the holiday season issue.  The price was right for them too, compared with a lot of other places.  It's nice that you can provide your own liquor and save in that area.

  • Just to give some follow up on this:
After a total of 3 phone calls and 5 seperate emails, I finally got a chance to see the venue. Once I got somebody on the phone they were very helpful and even sent me a personalized attachment to get a better idea on pricing before going in to see it. However, we opted to go with another venue that seemed more appropriately priced for the type of place we were looking for. Rockwood is very pretty and has such a cool vibe to it, but it felt small.

So for anyone else out there trying to see Rockwood, just keep trying. It's frustrating but somebody will eventually help you out.
