September 2012 Weddings

Hello!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself as new to this board. I am getting married Sept 14 to my soulmate and am super excited and counting down the days. I've been lurking a bit and am shocked at how far behind I am with everything. I haven't even finalized a guest list yet. But we do have our venue (ceremony and reception together) at a conservation area- all outdoors. And many of the big things...dj, photographer (won at a bridal show) picked out my dress but not bought etc. Actually we were very lucky, we won a huge package at the bridal show, gave us all our tuxes, flowers, wedding planner, photographer etc. Anyhoo...kind of long, sorry but just wanted to say hello and I look forward to hearing all about everyone's plans!
Cheers

Re: Hello!

  • congrats and welcome! don't feel like you are behind at all! some people plan their weddings in 6 months, and we're still further than that.
    Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • Welcome to the board.  Congrats on that win at the bridal show.  That is awesome!

It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

  • I would love to share details.
We are having a vintage style wedding, lots of antique mall shopping...coke bottles for table numbers, mason jars to hold our centerpiece flowers and also as candles. The setting is completely outdoors, a forest path for our ceremony and a covered but open area for our reception. This is our second marriage for both of us and we are going all out, although small amount of guests (80). I have two boys so we are trying to decide on something that will blend the family at the ceremony..but not necessarily a sand ceremony. Something a little different. Oh and we are getting married on the exact spot he proposed, almost exactly a year later! Hes extremely romantic!
  • Welcome and congrats! Don't worry, my guest list isn't finalized either yet. I mean, we have a good idea of who's coming, but people like not-so-close friends and coworkers we're not 100% sure about yet.

Welcome! It's awesome to have another bride on here who is having a go at it for the second time around! It's our second time too. The first time I was married in a foreign country in a hurry so I didn't really get to enjoy having family and friends around or plan things out like I would have had i been able to use the traditions I am accustomed to. Anyway, congrats!
  • Hi there and welcome! Ditto, PP congrats on your winnings....very exciting!

Thanks everyone, The win was a blessing. My dad passed away in october 2010 so I'm convinced this is his wedding gift to us. His way of helping since we were really struggling with how we were going to afford this, and we have a small budget to begin with 15,000. So to have the tuxes, photography flowers etc, paid for we have had a huge weight lifted off of us. Congrats to all as well.
