You know, it's really nice...

when people include a note with their "Must Decline" RSVP.

I've gotten a few "must decline"s with no note, no nothing. Just a plain old decline.

But I've gotten some that they wrote a note on the back and a cousin who even wrote me a letter letting me know why she couldn't make it.

It's not that I expect a letter of justification for every decline, but it's just nice to know that people would like to come but can't.

  • HAHA along with this I must add that I like getting notes from people that they are looking forward to coming. My aunt included several !!!!!! behind her accept. It's nice to see the cute things people do.
  • I did that to a wedding this past year we couldn't go to and the bride called me to thank me. It is nice.:)

  • I always include a note if I'm declining. To me it's the polite thing to do.

</div><div>We have got a lot of these too, also some have written smiley faces, and some have added greatly above accepts. All of the people who have declined have pretty good reasons that we knew about before hand however there is one that I don't know why... oh well.

  • I have LOVED getting notes from family and friends both accepting and declining.  It has made it more personal when I get those response cards back and has showed us how much our family and friends love us.
    Time of our lives Anniversary
  • So far, my parents are the only ones who have written anything on their RSVP...a little smiley face a heart mom & dad. I thought that was cute. No one else has written anything, or even put a return address on the envelope! Good thing I numbered the RSVPs so I know who is who!

But if you're decllining, I think it's nice to include a little note to say "sorry, we can't make it due to...x"

Sometimes I just wish people were a little more thoughtful...
  • We have had several people include return address on the envelope which helps me before I open the RSVP's. However most guests I can figure out except a few of FI's family and that's because there are about 3 Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
  • LOL I like reading the notes too.  They are like little surprises.

  • I do appreciate the notes, especially when people decline. I have received a few w/ notes but there was one decline w/ no reason why and it's a very close family member.

  • we've recieved a few of these to, I agree - its very nie when they send a little note. :)

  • I agree, I think it's very nice to do that when someone declines.

  • I opened the RSVP from my cousin in front of my mom and read the letter out loud to her, I almost cried! It was so touching and heartfelt (her grandmother was my aunt and passed away when we were younger, she put a note that she'd be there watching and making sure everything went the way it's supposed to).

It's nice because, though we were close when we were younger, we don't talk a ton now. It's nice to know someone still cares  even if you don't talk to them very often.
