Workout Accountability: Friday

Morning ladies!  It's Friday!!!  

Kempo went well, but we ended up having pasta night (the Garden Delight one - I love that stuff) because my stomach had been upset.   On a good note, at l east the weekend weight from last weekend's adventure is finally all gone.

Tonight will be salmon to make up for yesterday, and today is a rest day.  Tomorrow starts day one of the phase two recovery week.  The goal for the weekend is healthy eating - I really need to teach myself that just because it's a weekend doesn't mean I need lots of food splurges to enjoy it.

How are you all doing today?  Anything fun on tap for the weekend? 

(Also, does anyone have any fun/healthy recipes for shredded cabbage?  I bought some at the grocery for fish tacos and we didn't end up using it, and now I need to use it today before it expires. Thanks!)

    having a rough start already. Whatever sickness I have come down with has made it impossible for me to sleep. I got maybe 4 broken hours last night. I gave up at 3am and took a shower then retired to the couch to try and get some rest before my 5am wake up call. I am so grumpy and irritated and its only 8am.
    FI and I are OOT all weekend at a friends who just bought a house (read: we will be sleeping on air mattress') not looking forward to that. I planned to do some hiking but I already see that it wont happen.

    Fingers crossed my day gets better and I get happier...until then..grumble grumble *raise fist in anger* go get caffeine.

  • Yesterday was my first legit horrible day. I didn't go to bootcamp. I had another awful day at work full of not fun surprises. I'd been planning a cheat meal but really took it overboard. However, I'm bouncing back. I sacrificed half a pound for that meal. We did abs tabata with some cardio this morning, quite possibly the worst combination when you have a half pound food baby, but I made it through and did my 2 miles afterward. Hoping to pick up an inexpensive scale for the house today.

    This morning was rough. My brother deployed to Afghanistan yesterday so being nervous about that I haven't been sleeping well and my meals have gotten all messed up this week so my calories have been really low. Like one day for lunch I think FI undercooked my chicken (ick!) so I ended up throwing my whole lunch out and never really got to make it up. Another day I went to my aunts for dinner and all I had was a turkey sandwich. So I feel like due to that plus lack of sleep my energy level was really dragging this morning. I did lift, abs and back. I managed to get in 2 miles on the treadmill but called it quits after I kept getting wicked cramps in my sides plus feeling too tired to even do it. Hope I can get some more sleep tonight and tomorrow will be better. My shower is tomorrow and I am super excited about that!! I am nervous to eat the cake though!

  • Good morning ladies!

    My eating has been all over the place this week - on my workout days I've been eating too little and then on my non-workout days I've gone over by 300-400 calories! I imagine i'm yo-yoing like this because I'm not eating enough for the workout days, but I'd really like to correct this! It's so frustrating to see the angry red number on MFP saying i'm over my daily limit :(

    Yesterday I did manage to get a walk in with co-workers, but after work I was volunteering with a foster kid (we're doing an art project for a competition) so I only got 8,000 steps total for the day.

    I have no clue what today or this weekend is going to look like. Last night my little sister (who is very very pregnant) said her contractions were coming 5 mins apart, and she said if that went on for at least an hour she'd technically be in labor? I have no clue how this stuff works, but I haven't heard anything this morning and can't get ahold of anyone...I have a feeling this means I'll be travelling this weekend to see my brand new niece though (happy, but it also means zero good cardio workouts and probably poor eating).

    Entropic--I have had the same type of yoyo eating this week

    Last night FI and I went SCUBA diving at a lake.  The visibility was poor.  It was our first officially certified dive (we took the classes April through June on some weekends).  I don't know why, but I get a little panicky in the water and then I get frustrated and the bad mood goes downhill from there.  Then we get in stupid fights.  I really need to fix that.  Eating was good yesterday.  His mom and aunts are throwing a shower tomorrow in his hometown so I'm hoping eating doesn't go too haywire!

    My intention was to get up early and go for a jog this morning befor my 7 am meeting . The hangover due to last nights wine prevented that. No sign of the missing kitty I will go for a walk around the neighborhood later this morning and contact the animal shelter. At least Tag is chipped. Going for a hike this weekend and a BBQ. Those should cancel each other out :)

  • I plan on taking a pilates class today and then walking around downtown with FI.  I'm packing us a lunch so I can't be tempted by complete junk.

    I was proud of myself; I was pretty down yesterday and my initial, gut reaction was to go to the bakery and buy something sweet and devour it.  I resisted and instead, after a long walk with my FI last night I had a "s'mores sundae" with a scoop of ice cream, marshmallow fluff, sugar free chocolate syrup, and a crushed half of graham cracker.  Still not the BEST  but delicious.  

    It's supposed to rain this weekend so I'm not sure how exercising will go - probably horribly.  When FI is home with me I tend to not go to the gym.

  • Yesterdays eating was good, even though FI decided to order us dominos while I was at the gym.  Workout was amazing, great sweat on, and then POOF dinner is ready and sweet sweet man ordered the exact perfect thing for me ... thin crust, chicken and green pepper .. yummmmm ... 

    Woke up this morning for the last of level 1 30 DS.  Monday we start off with level 2, kinda excited, level 1 was getting boring towards the end.

    Saturday is my rest day ... THANK GOD!  And the MOH and I are going to my first fitting (SUPER excited and nervous) and buy her dress.  Can't wait....

    Yesterday was a good day, swam for 30 min and treaded water for 15 and took the dog for a one mile walk. The breeze was enough to get rid of the horseflies, thank god! My legs feel sore today, but a good sore! This week since I started working out steadily again I'm down 1.8lbs so I'm pretty happy to be back!

    Today is a rest day, its my grandmothers bday and we are having a little cookout at the lake. Steaks and salad though so I"ll be good. Tomm I'm working and I always eat better when I'm at work, not sure why. I'll def do more swimming this weekend, its supposed to be a warm one.

    I also hope everyone's day gets better! o.O  

    Well I'm 120 days out from the wedding.  I've been having a crummy week of the scale climbing every day. I woke up this morning feeling pretty... 'thick' is the only way to describe it. I felt heavy and chubby.  I was dreading getting on the Wii scale.  Finally... some sucess!! I'm down from yesterday!! In fact I think all the Ups from this week are gone plus a tiny bit. What a relief, it's actually working! ;p

    Got in a half an hour workout sofar, I'm not done yet.  Started with some light strength exercises and went to cardio. I was so proud of myself, I "ran" 3.432 miles in 20 minutes! My first mile was at 6 mins 3 seconds!  I know that's so NOT would it would be should I don sneakers and attempt to run outside, but that number has been steadily declining, it's been the only benefit I had been seeing. Actually worked up a really good sweat too :)  And now I play balance games to cool down ;)

  • Morning ladies.

    I'm still far too sore from the stupid class I went to on Wednesday.  Like, hurts to live sore.  My goodness.  H and I swam some laps last night, which was wonderful.  I haven't gotten in the pool for 4 years (not to swim laps, anyway), and it felt sooooo good, and familiar.  I'm a little sore today (but this is a good sore!).  I think we'll walk today.

  • Yesterday was a day off, due to being really, really wiped out.  I got a total of 11 hours of sleep over three nights, and my body had enough of my lack of sleep.  Spending the morning with 4 year olds and then going to class for the evening on 3-4 hours of sleep cannot be a regular part of my routine. I almost fell asleep in class last night, but was saved by diet coke.  

    I'm not sure if I'm going to the gym today or not.  It depends on whether or not my usual day one cramps kick in.  If they do, I'll be in bed all day, if not, I'll go to the gym and do cardo, abs (yesterdays workout), and legs.  

    Anyone have any good ideas for what I should do with the kale I got at the farmers market?

    I second this!

    I cut off the leafy part put  just enough EVOO on them to give them a shine then sprinkle some salt and lemon juice..pop in the oven for maybe 10 mins turn halfway through and Voila! tasty delicious snack :)

    Just make sure to brush your teeth after-or at least check your smile when you're done-I always end up with green chunkies in my teeth after eating them.

    @maribeth- thanks to your brother for serving and Ill keep im in my thoguhts. My fiance is currently in afghanistan in the marines but the people coming to relieve them are supposed to be there any day now so hopefully he will be home soonish!

    Yesterday I was great on eating but by the end of the day my body was exhausted and I think telling me I over did it a bit on exerciese the past two days.

    I did a brazillian butt lift workout to take it easy on my knee instead of insanity and then in the afternoon went rock climbing. After climbing decided to run two miles on the treadmill to try out my new shoes.

    Today I didn't get a workout in a before work and probably won't after since I'm doing the color run tomorrow and should probably give my body some rest before that. So I will have to be extra good about my eating today.

  • Hi everyone!

    Sorry to hear so many of us are in a funk on this Friday the 13th!

    Today's a rest day for me, last night FI and I ran a short 2 miles. It was still so hot out even though it was 9:00pm. I need it to be just 5 degrees cooler! It would make me so happy... maybe even if the humidity would wean a little.. when it's humid it's like the heat just surrounds you!

    Anyway, weighed in a day early this week and the scale rewarded me in going 1.4lbs down :) Hurrah!

  • It's been a yucky week for lots of people so I hope things turn around soon!

    I was pretty good about getting my butt to the gym yesterday and scaling back my eating. I still didn't make great choices (opting for an oreo instead of a plum... a bit of ice cream instead of cottage cheese...). This time of year I just seem to want to eat ice cream for every meal! I was going to stop at our local ice cream shop last night (and get fat free frozen yogurt) but the line was so long that I gave up. Which was probably a good thing.

    This morning I did 30DS, I have had a very healthy day so far, and tonight I'm going to dinner wtih FI but I have a healthy choice picked out in advance.  I'm going to hit up the gym in the morning tomorrow because we're doing a big picnic and concert with friends,

    Sunday I'm tackling a 7 mi. hike, and Sunday night FI's brother is coming for dinner at our favorite brew pub. Like Dawnp, I'm hoping everything will cancel out!

  • About to head to the gym for day 3 of couch to 5k.  I won't be able to run the 5k i wanted in september because of a wedding but I will be doing one in february.  I'm so pumped that I am actually sticking with this working out stuff this time around.  Normally I say I'm going to start working out and I go once.  This is day 3!
