  We haven't started looking at cakes yet, but that is next on the list after I get the flowers all squared away. I am definitely interested in getting a groom's cake for FI. I have a coupon for a free 6-inch groom's cake (with purchase of a wedding cake) from a local bakery that I want to contact, so I'm kinda hoping that pans out!

  I was dead set on getting FI a cake, but I just took a closer look at our budget and we're waaaaaay over so there's just no way we can squeeze it in there.
  
  But if I did do one, I'd love to do a cake that looks like his project mustang. That thing is his baby and everyone always asks him about it... And I think I'd make the flavor be mint chocolate chip because that's his favorite flavor and I never let him have it since I don't like it XD

  Fh didnt even know what they were so unless I win the lottery or find a cake shaper in the shape of a harley bike OOOrrrr I wake up with baking knowledge out of nowhere, he isn't getting one.

  If we do anything, it would be as the cake to serve at the rehearsal dinner/welcome party the night before. Have no idea what FI would like to have on it. He found a funny cake topper which fits us, but it is definitely not going on the formal cake.

  FI's sister has a culinary background and made him an amazing 21st birthday cake way back when... I'm going to ask her if she'll help me with one for him for rehearsal dinner. I would love to do some kind of video game/ sf giants/ outdoorsmen cake lol... my ideas are all over the place. I don't want to stress her out too much though... she gets really stressed when she cooks... so maybe I'll just do it myself and have her help ME!

  Missquela, I'd love to see if you do a Giants cake! For my FI's brother-in-law's birthday a few years ago they got a suite at AT&T park and his sister got him a cake that looked like a Giants hat on top of homeplate, it was pretty cool.

  I make wild cakes as a hobby (about a year ago I made him one that looked like the terrain from a game he likes) So i'm probably going to make him one that looks like D&D sourcebooks.

  Probably not having a groom's cake, in the sense of the really fancy shapes and designs.  We're probably not even having a traditional cake.  Maybe we'll get something yummy to serve at the rehearsal dinner and call it a groom's cake.

  </div><div>Going along with the Giants theme - I went to a wedding in March that had a Giants groom's cake. It was made to look like a baseball (round and white with the stitches) and had the "SF" logo on it. It was simple but still pretty cool!
