C'monnn people!

So today is the deadline for the hotel block. I called last week and all but ONE room was booked! Yay! I got a hold of my out of town guests and only one of those people had booked their rooms- the people who actually really need a hotel! Plus my friends in Ohio (where the wedding is) hadn't booked either. We are providing a shuttle back after the reception and these are the people who will really need it! SO I reminded all of them last week. Then I got a hold of all of them again yesterday to make sure they booked- NOPE! Really people?! I know it's their own fault if they don't get the discount, since they've known since November, but I'm more worried they won't even get a room since I know there's at least one other wedding block that night. I mean c'mon people do your part!

Re: C'monnn people!

  • ha! this sounds SO familiar! Our reservation date has already passed. We blocked rooms in 3 different hotels (2 downtown by our reception & 1 by the grooms house, b/c the MOG insisted we do so). So get this, the ONLY people that booked rooms aren't even OOT guests--go figure. oh, well. lol.

  • My wedding is in my hometown which is a smallish, touristy town with tons of hotels. We're past the college graduation and before the tourist season starts so we didn't block rooms- figured people could get their own rooms- no big deal.

Well, it turns out there is a soccer tournament in town that weekend and FI and I barely got a room! I know my bridal party is all accounted for and most of our OOT guests aren't too far so most will drive home that night, but some of our guests might be pitching tents in my parent's backyard! I guess we all should have been more pro-active on hotel room booking! It's too late to fix it now, but I am kind of wishing we'd done the block, now.

  • At this point you have given your guests all the necessary information. You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. You did your part now they have to do theirs.
