How much are you spending on your BM gifts?

Hi ladies!

I was wondering how much you were spending on your BM gifts.  I was able to get Coach wristlets for $18 each from my coworker's friend who works for Coach.  They are normally almost $50 each.  I'm wondering if I should get them something else too.  I'm also paying for their hair and half of their make-up for the day of the wedding, but I don't really know if I should count that as part of their gift.

I got them lolita wine glasses (i got them on clearance from Macys for $10) then I got them VS goodie bags ($20), giving them a g/c to help with their hair and make-up ($50), and I am giving them a survival kits. So i think all in all, I am spending $100 on each girl.

Thanks for your imput.. I'm paying about $100 per girl for their hair/make up, but I think I'll try to get some earrings or a bracelet on sale this weekend to add to the gift since the hair and make up don't really count.

  • I'm paying for hair and makeup for my girls, too, which is quite pricey ($75 for makeup, $85 for hair). I also got them earrings ($35) and a robe ($45). Hopefully that will suffice since there are 8 of them. I will probably get my MOH a bracelet too.

I got them $30 Vera bradley clutches in the wedding colors.  Still working on other gifts but I think I'll spend between $50-$75 on the BMs.  They didn't pay for the shower so I had originally thought I'd spend more, but then my Aunt threw one shower and my Mom and FMIL are throwing the other. Don't know if that's in poor taste of me, but I'm just kindof frustrated that they haven't been more involved.  For my MOH I think I'll spend closer to $200- I want to give her the same gifts as the other girls, and then a night at a hotel for her and her bf.  She's been helpful, and her and her bf both live at home and could use a night alone together.

ETA: the clutches are in blues/greens, but not matchy-matchy with our wedding colors (Navy and apple). The 3 BMs love Vera and would all use a clutch- MOH not so much, and that's part of why I wanted to get her something else.

</div><div>I don't think it's poor taste of you to spend less on them.  $50 - $75 is still very generous. I really like your idea to pay for the hotel for your MOH.  That's a really sweet gesture.  My BMs didn't host my shower either since my mom paid for it, but one of my BMs flew up from NC to attend, and then she and another BM have to fly in for my wedding, so I figured they've spent enough.  They all got me nice gifts for my shower too, except for one BM who said the gift was "in the mail" but I have yet to receive it and my shower was almost a month ago.... but that's another story for another thread lol.

I spent a little more than $100 on each girl. However I only have 3 BMs. If I had more BMs, I probably would have spent around $50-75 on each girl.

I got them a $50 gift card to their favorite clothing store
A bridesmaid tank top to wear on the morning of the wedding
Bath/Body products from the Body Shop
A makeup brush set with a matching travel bag
  • So far I bought each girl a tote bag, embroidered beach towel, bracelet for wedding day, flip flops and a vera bradely change purse.  I also plan to make each on a survival kit to include in the tote bag and then I am giving each girl something special for her, for example I bought my MOH 2 pairs of awesome earings (she loves earings) and I will prob get her one other extra special thing.  I bought one girl a starbucks gift card and another scratch of lottery tickets.
  • I got each girl a coach wristlet at the outlets ($30) and then a matching necklace and earring set that was on sale at Macy's ($25).  I have 8 BM's and a junior BM, so I spent less than I would have if I had less girls.  I am also paying for their hair and makeup which is quite expensive ($80 for hair and $90 for makeup-but I don't count that as a gift).
    Anniversary
  • So far I've spent about $80 on each girl and I have 9 girls. I got them each a satin robe, necklace, large mesh tote bag (good for the beach!) and flip flops. I might also get them each a beach towel. I'm most likely going to give them each 2 champagne flutes or wine glasses with a small bottle of champagne or wine as a thank you for my shower.

  • I will probably spend around $100 for each girl, but I only have 5 girls and they spent at least $100 each on me for the shower if not $200 in gifts alone, plus decorations and everything!  I got them beach totes ($5 each at Christmas tree shop), salsa gardening set ($5 each at Christmas Tree Shop), making personalized hangers (very cheap), picture frames ($10 each), a bottle of wine, a wine glass, and maybe jewelry, but I can't find jewelry that I like for each of them so I might ditch that idea.

    Anniversary
  • Technically I dont have a bridal party but my best friend is walking down with her son, our Ring bearer, and holding my bouquet and the rings.  She will also be our witness for our marriage liscense and is helping with all the pre wedding set up.  She is also hosting a shower for me and paid for us to go stay at a bed and breakfast after the wedding for the weekend and is watching our girls while we are gone!  I am giving her a set of wine glasses and a bottle of wine for a hostess gift and then will be getting her something really nice to give her the morning of the wedding.  I am thinking of getting her a spa getaway package bc I know she would love some time away from her family to just relax.

  • I am paying for each of their hair/makeup (I believe the total is like $135/girl).

Then, I have gotten them each:
    swarovski pearl multiple strand bracelet
swarovski pearl earrings (the jewelry ended up being about $60/girl)
a small cosmetic bag with their initials embroidered on it (about $11/girl)
I am planning to put a small lotion, a MAC lip gloss, and maybe somehting else in the tote bag for them.

I also had gift bags made on Etsy where the designer hand-draws a version of their bridesmaid dress onto the bag. They are sooooo cute. This is only kind of a part of the girl, but it was like $6/bag to have it done.  I also had "thank you for being my bridesmaid" cards made.

I guess total it will end up being like $200ish but a lot of that is the hair and makeup, which I know doesn't REALLY count, but I think what I have will be fine!
  • I am spending between $80-$100 per girl.
