Dance Lessons

Does anyone know of somewhere in the york/lancaster area that offers just basic dance lessons? My FI mentioned this yesterday. At first I thought  it as a joke but he's really stressing about the first dance. He doesn't dance and our first dance at the wedding will be our very first slow dance ever! He says he wants to look into getting dance lessons so he doesn't step on my feet and look like a fool. I told him he'll be fine but he really wants to look into lessons. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    We're starting our dance lessons this Saturday. We found an article in the newspaper about 2 professional dancers offering ballroom dance lessons at a church in Brogue, PA, which isn't far from us. You can't beat their price either! $60 per person for a ten week class.  The classes are every Saturday night from 7-9pm with additional optional practices on Wednesday nights.  Here's the number if you're interested in signing up: 717-244-5642.

    If you're still looking for other places in the area to take dance classes, I would avoid Arthur Murray Dance Studio.  The lessons will cost you a fortune! A friend of mine paid $1,300 for dance lessons and their first dance was horrible.  All they did was count their steps, which I know isn't the dance instructors fault, but for $1300, I expected more!

    Thanks for the info. I think we are going to check into it. Do you know what church? Is it the one on 74? I drive through Brogue every wednesday so i'm kinda familar with it.

    It's St. James Lutheran Church located at 2335 Cramer Road in Brogue.  I've never been there, but can't be too hard to find as Brogue isn't that big haha

    Red! We missed you at dance class Saturday ;)  haha It was interesting...apparently the church has been hosting these classes for 6  years, so they have some advanced people and their are a few couples who are brand new. Also, the lady gave me the wrong information on the phone. The cost is $60per couple, not per person! Everything is better when it's cheaper than you thought! I'm sure they'd still love to have you if you and your FI are still interested!

    That is an awesome price! Unfortunately FI has classes at night now until Feb.  do you know if they do classes another date??

    WOW that is an awesome price. I mentioned it to FI and he was a little hesitant because he wasn't sure how many people would be there. He's so afraid of making a fool out of himself.

    Glad you 2 had a good time. I might try and bring it up to him again tonight but dunno. You know how men can be! LOL

    Red- Please tell your FI that there are three new couples including us and we're all terrible! Even the people who have taken the class before aren't doing so well (it's only the first class so I'm sure they'll get better). I laughed at myself the whole time if it makes him feel any better!
