Anyone know of any boutiques in NYC where you can find original, beautiful, unique bridal dresses?

    you might want to post this on the NYC board. but i went dress shopping in NYC a few weeks ago. i went to: J.Crew Saja Bridal Bridal Reflections Kleinfeld J.Crew was my favorite & thats where i got my dress.

    Priscilla of Boston, but make an appointment first.  They are in midtown.  Perfect gowns, nonaggressive sales help, elegant salon.

    Check out Paula Varcalona in the garment district-- it's one of the few shops of its kind left as the garment district is being slowly bled to death. The make all of their gowns on site, so everything is custom-- you can pick fabric, you can mix and match styles, it's brilliant. http://www.paulavarsalona.com/

    I loved Gabriella's (http://www.gabriellanewyork.com/).  Her boutique is in the meatpacking district, and I thought she had the most unique selection out of all of the places I visited that weekend (I went to 6 places).  You're going to try on a lot of similar dresses wherever you go, but she definitely had dresses that I did not see in other places.  She and her consultants are all very nice and approchable, and it's a pretty setting and very relaxed.  No pushy salespeople.  Make an appointment.

    I also liked Priscilla of Boston.  You can look at their selection online to see whether you like their designs.  My consultant there was very nice as well.

    Wedding Atelier also has a unique selection, especially in the more vintage, antique and/or lacey looks.  They let you browse through the dresses but also pick dresses out for you. 

    Bridal Reflections has a large selection as well with well known designers and some exclusive designers as well I think.  I think they are willing to work with you on price here. 

    Of course you know about Kleinfeld.  I was sort of disappointed when I went here because I felt like the consultant didn't "get" me, and I didn't have as personal an experience I did at all of the other salons.

    I also went to Bergdorf.  All of the other places had a broad range of prices, but as you might expect, Bergdorft is on the higher end.  They have the smallest selection out of these, but it was a fun experience.

    DEFINITELY Selia Yang.  She has a store in Tribeca and it's amaaazing.
