How many of you are doing OOT gift baskets?  What are you putting in them and where are you getting your bags?

    we put the following things in our gift baskets:
    Zapps- you can order straight from zapps website
    Pralines- www.oldtownpralines.com ( they are really cheap and they'll make them fresh the day you pick them up. They'll also put a personalized sticker on them for you for free. Highly reccomend)
    Beads
    water
    Welcome booklet from us that included map, tourist info, schedule of weekend events etc.

    In retrospect I dont regret doing the OOT bags, but i dont think anybody would've noticed/cared if we didnt have them.They definitely added to my last minute stress since I was destination and had to put them together and deliver them to several different hotels the day before my wedding.

    the convention and visitors bureau will give you maps, info, bags, & mardi gras beads for free. They also give out  NOLA postcards for free if you wanted to use them as save the dates.

    I'm doing them. The current plan is to include:

    Zapp's
    Home-made Salsa
    Home-made Jam
    Abita Water
    Abita Beer
    Tylenol
    $5 giftcard to Cafe du Monde

    The vast majority of our guests are local, so I could get away with not doing these. However, my mother has decided to own this project, so I'm letting her run with it.
    I found a site to order bags from, and now I'm having trouble remembering what it was. If I find it, I'll edit to include the site.

    Thanks Maddy for sharing the info about the pralines.  They have the white chocolate fleur de lis pralines that I have been looking for.

    You just call the visitors bureau and they will gather everything for you.  If you pick it up, it's free.  Most of our guests were from out of town, so we went all out.  We had french quarter walking maps, postcards, and welcome booklets, Zapps, pralines, Hubiqs pies stamped with our names, Roman candy, beads, water, Tony Chachere's, advil, pepto bismol, shout wipes, and kleenex.  We put in a gable box wrapped with ribbon and a sticker, and our guests loved them!
