Invitations and Favors!

Looking for a budget friendly website or store for my invitations and favors. Please share your experiences with ordering invitations/favors! Also, what did you choose as a favor? Need ideas! Thanks!

Re: Invitations and Favors!

  • I'm using Jacqueline Dziadosz (CLICK) for my invitations. She also did my STDs and will be taking care of all of the "paper" stuff for my wedding. She's one of my favorite vendors.

For favors, we're having a photobooth so I bought magnetic frames for guests to put their photo in.

  • For invites, I used designs by MK (link). She was much more affordable than most things we found and the invites are GORGEOUS. Seriously. We have gotten a TON of comments on them already.
  • I pre-ordered invitation sampled from Wedding Paper Divas they vary in price but i estimated around $300 for 100 invitations & RSVP cards

As far as favors go - we are doing a donation to Make A Wish Foundation!

    Hope this helps!!!

  • I got my save the dates from magnetstreet.  They also do inviations and have promo codes all the time.  I am getting my inviations from David's Bridal.  They are very reasonably priced and they keep offering promos also.

I can't help with the favors though, we are doing a donation instead.

  • You could always do the invitations yourself.  Places like cardsandpockets.com let you order pocketfold and cardstock and you can even upload the design to them and they print them and mail tem to you, that does cost extra though.  FI and I bought a basic invitation set from Michaels.  FI has a background in graphis design so he is going to design them for us.  If either of you guys have experience with design thats always an option too.

  • Mine certainly weren't the cheapest, but no letterpress is. But the company I went through had some of the more affordable quotes. If you're interested in letterpress, check out Invitations by Ajalon. They're a California based company. They were a pleasure to work with. You can use of their designs, or submit your own artwork, which is what I did.

For favors we did a candy table. While it's done a lot, it's always well received, even when your wedding is mostly all adults.

  • I haven't even started thinking about invitations yet, which I know is SO bad.

I'm making limoncello  as our wedding favor - we'll give it out in little airplane bottles. I'm so excited for this - it matches our colors and is easy to make, but so tasty.

I am looking at a letterpress design from: http://www.theamericanwedding.com/

It will be about $500 for invites and rsvp cards, as well as reception cards, I believe for about 150-175 invites - somewhere in that range. Not the cheapest for invites ever, but not expensive for letterpress designs. I'm also looking into Ajalon, as was mentioned aboved.

For favors, I was thinking of doing either a jar of honey for each guest or birdseed in the shape of a heart - FI's family is very into birds and bird conservation and education. We are also having a photobooth so they will be able to take home their photos from that as well, and are also probably doing a candy bar.

  • I will be using vistaprint for my invitations, I have used them several times in the past and have always been extremely happy with the products I have received from them.

We will have two favors, the first will be a glass jar in the shape of a leaf full of maple syrup and the second will be a candy buffet.

  • For STDs I used Magnet Street and was really happy with them.  I made my wedding invitations.  One of my BMs designed them for me, and I had them printed through Cards & Pockets and bought all the materials myself and did the assembly.  It was time consuming, but I got to make the kind of invitations I wanted for a fraction of what an independent designer would have charged me.  And they received tons of compliments.  I have a few friends who ordered their invites through Davids Bridal and they looked great.  Dani Writes Calligraphy now offers letterpress. I have no idea what she charges, but I used her for calligraphy and she was incredibly reasonable so maybe her letterpress prices are on par.

For favors, we did sets of olive oil & vinegar and gave them our per couple/single person.

  • I got my STD from Magnet Street and I have someone doing my Invitations, Programs, Seating Chart, and she also made me a jpeg file to have bookmarks made.
Her name is Sally and she is in Ocean County. She has done an amazing job so far and is very reasonably priced.

  • I ordered a pdf off of Etsy for my Save the Dates and printed myself. Haven't gotten to the invitations yet. As for favors, my mother is actually making them for the wedding and for the shower. http://www.beau-coup.com has come cute favors. Hope that helps!
