Im looking for reception and ceremony sites in the grand rapids area. My wedding budget all together is $10000. I can always choose to get married at the church of which some of my family members attend but Im looking for alternatives since im trying to avoid  repeating my brothers wedding. Im looking at getting married in may of 2011.

    Well, an overall budget is good, but I guess it's important to know how many people you have attending?  I really thought the GR museum would be fun.  I'm someone who doesn't want to do a "hotel" wedding or a "church" wedding, so we had ours at St. Cecilia's Music Center (ceremony) and our reception was held at Bistro Bella Vita. 

    But I suspect that last one might be too small for you. :)

    we are having our wedding in a church and reception at The Masonic Center on E. Fulton in downtown GR. It's right on E. Fulton and Lafayette, great location! They even have an attached parking ramp! It was only a $800 rental fee and the space is HUGE!!! They give you 4 or 5 catering options to fit your budget and style (we went with Adeline Leigh) and you pick out your own bar. My aunt had her wedding there years ago and it was amazing. I think they have an appitheatre or something where you can get married in, instead of doing a church thing, though. Call them!!!

    We are getting married and having our reception at the GR museum.  It is costing us much more than I planned.  It's 1000 to get married and 3500 to have your reception there.

    we did st. cecilias music society and went with branns catering.... both were very reasonable and affordable..... definetely check it out

    Check out Mosaic Space on division.  We are having our ceremony and reception there with approx. 170 guests and a similar budget.  Not only are they a space to rent for a decent price, they have inhouse DJ's, Bartenders, Caterers, Security, a doorman and have two floors to choose from.  We chose to rent both floors, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.  It has been a great experience working with their staff.

    fredrick meijer gardens!! check them out online. They have several rooms to choose from- ranging in different prices too :)

    Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the Masonic Temple in GR?

    I am planning from Chicago, and haven't been able to find any pictures online.

    Oh crud.  What's the name of the tapa's place that someone had their reception at?  I can't remember, but someone who is actually in GR might know.

    amoro - it is San Chez.  they have a reception place on the third floor.

    The reception pics are a little further on in the album. I actually found this board while trying to see more pics
