Programs....

I know some of us are doing DIY Programs. I've been doing the same...however, I'm about to scream...because I can't get everything to line up...that being said...any of you lovely ladies have a template for a Layered Program you're willing to share??

Re: Programs....

  • I had decided to try to do DIY programs but was running into the same problem.  I found these blank tri-fold programs at JoAnn's.  They were 15 dollars for 50.  I'm just going to use a 50% off coupon and go in twice so I have 100 of them.  This way I'm still making them but it's taking the hassle out of trying to line everything up.  They were wilton tri-fold programs.  I will probably add some sort of band or ribbon around them to jazz them up.
  • bdgirl, I'm doing a layered program as well - I just created one cell "tables" in Word and did each layer on a separate document. Then when I cut them out, they're all the same column size. I just changed the row size to be what I needed for each layer.

I did the same but with bi-folds and I'm pretty sure I got them at Michael's in a pack of 100. Jo Ann's actually had an entirely different brand but they look exactly the same in a 50 count.  So I'm going to make 50 for 170 or less guests.  I plan on hole-punching and adding ribbon to the fold to bring in some color and make this as simple of a process as possible!!

  • I'm not sure what a layered program is. I downloaded a template from Word to do our four-page program. I haven't yet figured out how to get our border onto it, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. I'm planning on having them printed out at Office Max.

Are you doing 4 pages or 5?? Do you mind sharing the dimensions you used...I don't want to give up just yet...but I'm close to it...

  • I'm not doing layered ones - all I am doing is cutting cardstock in half (so 4.25") and then I am tying them together with jute. But all i did was create the size in a Word Document and carry it throughout. I hope you find something soon, maybe google search free downloadable layered program?

bdgirl, mine is 4 pages total: the cover, the wedding party page, the love verses page (what our officiant is reading during the ceremony) and the back page of just colored cardstock (as a backing). There's a picture of it in my bio if you want to take a look - not the finished product obviously!

We aren't having a long ceremony, so I didn't print a page for that. But here's what I used for mine:
Cover page: 5.7" (row height) x 3.3" (column height)
    WP page: 6.3" (row) x 3.3" (column)
    LV page: 7" (row) x 3.3" (column)
    Back cover: 8" (row) x 3.3" (column)

Doing it this way allowed me to get three of each column on one page, but I did also put one tiny 0.16" column in between each one so that I could cut them easier. Having different row heights means you have to have each one in a separate document.

    GL!!

I am doing a similar layered program (see attached). I have not started them yet but the attached link does give step by step instructions as well as a template to follow. It seems easy enough and I am hoping with will work for me when it comes time for me to start the process.

    Hope this helps!
