Can someone who has used Amanda Marks Photography, Montoto Productions Videography and Haydels Bakery give me some advice? How was your experience with these vendors?

I actually went and ordered my wedding cake today from Haydel's. I was a little skeptical at first but I'm glad I went with them. They are affordable and they can do just as much as any other bakery around town. I had Meghan as my helper at Haydel's, ask for her. She was very sweet, patient and very upbeat! Good Luck!

Amanda Marks is Stacey Marks' ex-wife. Before marrying Stacey she was an exotic dancer. She does not have a background in photography or art. Stacey trained Amanda as a photographer to help make the family extra money. She did not have to pay her dues or have good work to be considered successful. Stacey made her an instant photographer. He immediately charged premium rates for someone without any photography experience. She now has about three years experience as a wedding photographer. Her work is Ok but less than average. Her portrait work is better than her wedding work. She is described as sweet. She is now bitterly divorced form Stacey but keeps Marks as a last name to keep herself in the ranks of this popular wedding vendor family. She's not really a photographer but someone who does photography for the easy money.

My fiance and I went to Haydel's last weekend and Braylin helped us. She was great and they are very affordable. We wanted a cake with the fondant but the one they had on display would have been more expensive so she suggested that they do it with the buttercream frosting. And since our wedding is indoors, we wouldnt have to worry about it melting. Hope that helps!

thanks for the info girls. After all this, it seems easier to work with people that your friends and family can recommend.

She says I owe her 1400 dollars per the contract, but she voided the contract when she called to tell me she could not do my wedding. I am confused!

We are using Stacy Marks.

I went to Haydel's for a tasting and wasn't impressed.

I know someone who used Micheal Caswell and his pictures are nice and his is affordable.

NatMarie, I would walk away and and let her sue for the 1400. Dont know your deposit issue but I'd let it go whatever it is. I guess pics in my life are important to me! I wont use her now (I blindly considered her berore) not just from this post but because I made a lot of calls and emails because of this post. NO WAY! Bad bad situation your in. I didnt get any positive feedback but even if she takes ok shots of your wedding will it take her a year to give you the ones "she" thinks are the best. I'd just flat out sue her from the posts I've read on here. I'm a pretty reserved person but reading your posts this blew me away. You dont deserve this stuff, none of us would SO close to our date. Let us know how it goes either way.

I used Amanda Marks for my wedding back in September 2010 and still have not received my wedding album. The last I heard from her (about a month ago) I was told I should have it in my hands by June 10th. It is not June 15th and I haven't even received an email from her saying it has been sent to the printers. Over the last two weeks I've sent emails and called her multiple times with no response and I'm afraid I may never receive what I've paid for. Luckily, I did receive an email with all of the pictures within a month after the wedding so I have been able to make prints on my own.

I booked Amanda since Stacey was unavailable on my wedding day and since everything went pretty well during my engagement session I wasn't too concerned with her shooting my wedding even though she didn't seem to be the most organized or smartest person I've met. She also doublebooked the day of my wedding and left my reception at 8pm when my reception didn't end until 11pm. There were shots I specifically requested that she totally forgot about/ignored. She also gave no direction and had no creative ideas besides what I asked her to do. Overall the pictures she did take came out well and I ended up with quite a few great shots but I would never recommend her to anyone else.

I can tell you I used Amanda Marks as well. My wedding was in June 2010. I still have not received my albums. I was not impressed with the photos that she took at the wedding. She ignores my phone calls and always has excuses as to why my albums are still not ready. She is the most unprofessional photographer I have ever seen. I booked her because Stacy suggested her since he was booked. My bridal portraits were good but when it came down to the wedding pictures, she just doesn't have an eye for it.

Same here with Amanda Marks Photography! My Wedding was in October of 2010 and I had nothing but problems with her. Before the wedding things were okay....but after horrible! still dont have all my stuff and she wont return calls, emails, etc.
I think the best thing we can do now is spread the word to other brides so more are not in this terrible situation!

unless you press criminal charges you are never going to see her pay. She's got everybody else taking care of this mess and she doesn't care. She never has.
