MENU CARD QUESTION ~

Hi All -
I am having a sit down dinner - I would like to have Menu Cards.. seeing as how people will have to choose either Roasted Chicken or Baked New england Scrod...can i still make up menu cards with "both" items on it...along with the passed Hors d'oeuvres that were selected ....I've created a beautiful Menu card but then started thinking...maybe I shouldn't ...your thoughts??

That's fine. I would just put an "OR" in between so people know they have to choose.

I was wondering the same thing.....will people think they can change order once they get to reception?

I don't think guests will get confused and think they can choose all over again.  I think the menu is just a reminder of the choices and what else will be served.  If you are having a champagne toast and/or wedding cake you could include that as well.  This is how mine will look.....HTH!

Do you think that the coffee/tea is important to put on there?

If you're worried people will think they can change it, you could write something like

    Entree
(previously selected) with this line in a smaller font

I would be surprised if people thought they could change their entree selection.  But then again, sometimes people surprise me :-)

I would skip listing the passed HD's to save room.  Guests will already have enjoyed those by the time they sit down to dinner.  I have never seen a sit-down dinner menu card that listed anything other than appetizer course, entree and dessert.  You can also skip coffee/tea if you need to save room as that is implied (as are water and rolls).

But definitely do them!  As a guest, I love menu cards!  I think they are a very thoughtful touch.
