help me plan everything too far in advance (centerpiece advice, please!)

Hi everyone,

Next up on our list is the florist, and while we aren't going to head back to Pgh to make this decision until may or june, I'm trying to gather ideas of what I'd like to help a florist configure a quote.

My budget per centerpiece is 40-60 dollars, but I'd love to stay on the lower end of that and I'm thinking non-florals might be the way to go.  I found these candelabras online for under $30 and I thought they could be perfect since they are affordable and I could use them (or sell them) after the wedding. Still, I would love some advice on the idea.

Given the pictures below, would you do all candelabras (and maybe petals/bud vases at the base), half candelabras/half small floral arrangements, or would you just do all simple floral arrangements?  Do you think they would be hard to see around at round tables? fwiw, I think my venue allows taper candles on tables because I've seen pictures of centerpieces involving them at the venue.

They are pretty! I think you should do 1/2 candelabras with some sort of small floral arrangement at the base (perhaps even just some petals?), and 1/2 small arrangements with just flowers. And I don't think they will be any harder to see around than high centerpieces - I think mixing it up will add interest to the space and be easier on the budget! Let me try to see if I can find an image of what I have in mind...

Also, can you post some pics you have of the venue? I know it's the pgh golf club but it's hard to find good photos of the space online!

Very pretty! I like giana's idea about using half of the candelabra's and half low centerpieces - def would give the space more texture.

Also, sending you a PM about my florist.

db- thanks for the PM!  I am finding it so hard to navigate florists when so few give you an idea of how much they cost on their websites.

I say do half and half. I think the candelabras you picked out are really nice. Maybe you could have dangling crystals from them in your wedding colors. But take what I say with a grain of salt because I have only been to one wedding and have no  certain idea what Im doing yet for my centerpieces. Below is sort of what I have in mind when I say something dangling.

I love those candalabras! I also think it would be a really good idea to have flowers on some, and the candles on the other. I like the idea of mixing it up a lot. I definitely think you can do the centerpieces for a low expense that way.

I love those candelabras!  I'm doing them as well, but mine have a shabby chic look and are only 3-arm ($12.99 a piece and free shipping!!!).  Rather than taper candles, I'll be putting several flower heads -  probably roses - in the place of where each candle should go, spreading some petals at the base, and surrounding it with about 5-6 votives.

This was my inspiration, although mine will have more of a shabby-chic vs. vintage look... (Clicky)

I also just came across this while looking for the other pic...beautiful and the candle holders have the same look as the candelabras you like. (Clicky)
