wedding day Make up suggestions needed!

I'm fairly fair skinned, and I have freckles. My skin can break out a bit usually about once a month or so, however I never have too many blemishes. Jason and i are getting married in Jamaica in march, and I have no idea where to start with make up ideas since I never wear make up!  I would like to have make up on tho for my wedding. I would like my eyes to "pop" and skin to glow,

Reccommendations? I have no idea where to even start!

Re: wedding day Make up suggestions needed!

  • If you can spring for it, Sephora does makeup consultations, and all you have to purchase is a $50 gift card. And you get your makeup done, so you can wait until a special occasion, like anniversary dinnner or VALENTINES, go get it done, and get a lesson at the same time.
They can teach you what to do, and what products to use. I highly recommend it!
  • Ulta is also great about doing makeup consultations if there's one near you.  If you check their website, every once in a while they run showcase days where they focus on a particular makeup brand and will have extra people around to do mini makeovers.
  • MAC will also do a consultation for you and if you go Monday through Thursday, they will do it for free.  If you go Friday through Sunday, you have to purchase $50 worth of product.  As you can tell, I go there enough and I absolutely love MAC products!

  • My only issue (if you can even call it that) with Ulta and Mac is that the representative will only pick makeups from whatever brand they are representing, whereas in Sephora, the girl walked me around and I got things from all different brands.
But I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
  • Be careful if using MAC products on you face, I have acne prone skin and broke out quite badly using their foundations, even the powders. My dermotologist is highly against MAC. HOWEVER, I love love love thier eyeshadows, and lipsticks/glosses. They do a great job at consultations on just eyes if thats what you want.
I use Bare Escentuals mineral powders, and you can get them at Sephora.

    Good luck on your search.

  • Thanks for all the recommendations! Does anyone know if their is a sephora in Rochester, mn?
  • You could also try a local day spa/salon. Alot of places do make up lessons for only 20 bucks depending where you go. Also, just try googling pictures of looks that you think you'd like and bring them in when you get your make up done.  I'd try that route.
