It's Sunday!

Well we are chilling in the hotel waiting on MIL to get out of church. She's going to come over so we can skype with the grandbaby, she hasnt seen her since Christmas.

Then we're headed to H's, uncles old place to go over some estate issues, then headed home. YAY! I want to sleep in my own bed with my kitten.

Yesterday it rained most the day at the fair, but we had a good time anyway, and H won me a stuffed frog. And we walked around barns looking at the horses and bunnies, my favorite part.

Re: It's Sunday!

  • I'm halfway through my four day weekend and have accomplished virtually nothing constructive. I don't want to go back to work on Tuesday and whine because I got nothing done. I have 12 days to get the house perfect so my mom can come up for my BIG birthday on the 14th. I cannot lurk on TK all day!!

I did start off the weekend with a lot of stress. I was getting threatening texts from a former co-worker. HR and security were made aware so I will be safe going back but it was terrible.

Were you the only one they were threatening?

As far as the constructiveness, just start one thing, it usually rolls into the next.

  • KD, did you name your stuffed frog? If not, I shall name him Sir Hopsalot for you (so that way he can be Sir Whisky's long-last Sir brother).

I'm stilll in bed, reading. H is making his delicious potatoes/hash browns so I am eagerly awaiting them. Today is just writing and lesson planning.

  • Swaptac, that's horrible! I hope you got it taken care of.

Kd, I LOVE animals. Looking at horses and bunnies sounds like a great way to spend quality time with your H.

FI is working like a madman on the garage construction. We're both feeling the pressure to get things done before going back to work on Tuesday.

It's been a tough weekend for me. First it was the job situation, then it was plain old budgeting issues (still trying to get stuff organized from this past summer where I'm owed money and can't get it), and I'm REALLY missing ds these days.

He lives with his dad, which is his choice, but I miss him horribly. I thought that he'd really change his mind about moving with us after last winter, but it hasn't happened. In fact, he doesn't even seem to want to visit us here, and spent very little time with us when we were there in July. I feel like I've lost him.

This is the first year in many that I didn't host a bonfire for the kids to celebrate going back to school. We used to do a weiner roast, have cake, play spotlight and close out the evening with fireworks.

Not a fun weekend in my world ...

  • Yes, I was the only lucky one. She and I were good friends and I joked with her before she put her notice in to not screw the rest of us over with leaving work undone. She put in two weeks and worked a week and a half. Come to find out a huge project that we all had to do for our plans she didn't do so we had to pick up part of hers. I sent her a text to the effect of way to now screw us over and she flipped out. She started with the nasty texts and unfriended me and my daughter on FB. The last text that day ended with "you're nobody's friend." Whatever. I put a tongue in cheek post on FB about that and the hate she was spewing (obviously didn't put any name or other identifying information) She found out and laid into me the next day. She sent my texts to the Director of my department... said I was crazy and everyone at work knows it... I better not mess with her... I called the Director and sent the threatening texts and he took care of the rest.

Sorry for the novel, I just needed to vent since I won't be able to talk about it at work.
  • Morning ladies. Im sitting at the drs waiting for my check. Im annoyed because the ultrasound girl is running really late. My appt was at 10:30 and there is still 1 more girl ahead of me. I may take Gia for a walk today. No real plans.

  • I love the name Sir Hopsalot!

I spent all day yesterday catching up on our budget and playing video games, which meant I got nothing else done, but oh well. More to do on Monday, I guess.
Today we are going to my nephew's Star Wars birthday party. I'm trying to figure out if I can get my hair to do the Princess Leia buns...
  • Morning. I got up at 7:45 cause I was supposed to do H's fantasy draft this morning at 8, but one of the guys never set his team up so they have an odd number of teams and the whole thing is now hosed. H got up EARLY and took the dog for a hike.
We had a nice evening out last night. We went to the gym, Best Buy, and dinner at Maggiano's (it was okay - we had a gift card). PIcked up cheesecake for dessert on the way home. They gave me the wrong flavor :(. I almost cried.. and almost went back for it. But it was after 10:00 and laziness won out.

Blue - hope you've gotten into your appointment by now. I hate waiting at the doctor's office. Hope things are looking good :)

  • Good luck Blue, hope you don't have to wait too long.

  • Loopy, we only go to Maggianos when we have a gift card. That place is freakin expensive. But so good.

  • We had a neighborhood Italian place we loved to go to in Cleveland that was awesome. We haven't been able to figure out the food scene here in Denver yet though :(.
  • There is a local Italian place here that is realy good but we haven't been in forever. Our favorite pizza place closed :(. Other than that, we don't really go out to eat much unless we get a gift card. Which means, we end up at Chili's a lot.
  • Good Morning!

We're getting dressed and ready to head out to the apple orchard in a few. I'm pretty pumped. I've been craving fresh pressed cider for weeks. Regarless of what the calendar says, this is my big fall kickoff. I'm ready to start seasonal fooding it up!

They are open 365 days a year. Since our stuff is so time sensitive and you cant exactly "plan" things they have to be. I needed to be checked today because I am close to getting triggered. Also, if I had triggered on Friday, I would have had to have my retrieval 38 hours later no matter what, so they would have to do it.

On the weekends and holidays they only do monitoring stuff and IUI's/IVF's. They dont do consults and stuff. So they close a little earlier, but yeah, they are always there, lol.

What kind of food do you like? I'll be happy to recommend some places.

Had a busy weekend here and I'm ready to just zonk out. (It's 4:45PM) We're heading next door for a BBQ in about 15 minutes. Tomorrow I am so going to sleep in and read!

The biggest two basics we're having trouble finding so far are good chinese and pizza (like a pan crust - not thin). We live in Littleton. Otherwise we like to go out once in a while to a more gourmet menu type. In Cleveland we were fans of Michael Symon's restaurants, and a few gastro-pubs, and a little neighborhood Italian place with to-die for garlic parmesan pull apart bread.

  • Good evening!

Blue, I hope your appointment went well. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

It's hard to believe there's only one day left of this awesome three day weekend. My fiance and I have spent a lot of time with family. Yesterday my dad and brother came down to go to a local shooting range with us. So much fun! My dad is now comfortable enough to give me the gun my grandfather wants passed down to me. Given that my grandfather has over 30 grandchildren he could pass down any of his many guns to, I'm honored that he wanted to pass one down to me. Today we did dinner at Cracker Barrel with my fiance's parents, sister, maternal grandfather, and maternal aunt and uncle. We hadn't seen the aunt and uncle since January, so it was nice to see them.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day tomorrow!
    Anniversary
  • I can't believe that I have to go to work on Tuesday - where did the summer go?

FI worked on the eaves of the garage until dark, then we had a little fire in the yard. Dd was out with friends until dark (they're all getting along today - a rare thing), and I finished framing the lattice for the patio we rebuilt earlier this summer. I also stained it, along with my clothesline pole. Hopefully the clothesline will be back up next week because I can get a month or two out of it before it gets too cold.

I'm getting frustrated with online dress "shopping." I know what I'd like to have and can't find it. I'm almost ready to make it, but that means ordering fabric online, so I don't know how that search would be any easier.

    *sigh

This week is the beginning of another new routine. I always think of this time of year as a new year, more than January!
