As cliche as it sounds, I've gotten a lot of really nice DIY ideas from Martha Stewart Weddings.

Did you want to do flowers at all?  Because mums would be beautiful in fall colors.

Paprika is a crazy crafter... maybe she'll have some other ideas for you.  But I would definitely suggest snooping around www.marthastewartweddings.com for some ideas.  Anything they put in the magazine is online.  And you don't have to pay to look at their website :)

Another friend of mine had her wedding in the spring last year, but they had fall-ish colors, and their centerpieces were entirely recycle-able.  They had beer bottles (I wanna say Yuengling, because they were all green) turned into candle votives.  Ivory votive candles, and white, green, and yellow/golden flowers in vases made out of something recycle-able, but I can't remember what.

Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

Ha. Its like the bat signal when I see DIY. :) Just some ideas- and they could all be different centerpieces, or mixed, or all the same. -A bushel of apples in a cute basket with a coordinating ribbon tied around it. Fresh apples. From a local orchard. Doubles as favors. :) - Mums. Definitely mums. The only worry I'd have about mums is that I'm pretty allergic to them... I don't know how many others are. - pumpkins. You could paint the table number out on them. I would recommend not carving them though- you'd have to do them like, a day before so they wouldn't brown. You could also go to the craft store and get the pumpkins from there that are easier to carve. Let me think some more. I'll be back with some more ideas. :)

I was thinking pumpkins & apples, but I was trying to come up with a really cute way to put them together.  Apparently DD coffee isn't conducive to creativity this morning.

Here's another few. -lanterns with candles in them. You could do black, white, or a rusty brown color lantern with a contrasting candle inside, and some flowers and faux leaves around the base of it. Ikea has smaller ones, so you could do one big one and two or three small ones on every table. -Branches in a galvanized tin or a glass vase. Spray paint them white or brown, and hang crystals from them. -Use burlap as your runner to give it a more rustic look. -Mason jars are a failproof decor. Seriously. I'm sure I'll come back with more. Apparently, doritos and Chobani (not together. Ew.) are condusive of decorating thoughts.
