I think i found the dress!!! But...

After two trips to Davids Bridal and 11 dresses tried on i had a top 3... Then they pulled one more and put it on me and it was over for me.
This picture does not do the dress justice, which is probally why it was never on my original list of "have to try on"

But once i was in it... Oh my! My waist was so defined, it had JUST enough detailing but not an overload. My biggest concern is how well is this going to bustle? All the other dresses i fell for were Tafeta, i didnt care for satin because it didnt drape well on me and i hadn't even considered organza... Help please.

  • Just listen to your seamstress and they will know what to do.  They are the pros for a reason :)  Your dress is beautiful and I'm sure it will be incredible even with the bustle!

  • If you are sure on the dress (and it is stunning) you should go back to DB and have them try it on you again, this time with your MOH and have them show you how to bustle it (if it came with one) if it did not I would ask DB to bring out their seamstress (if one is available in house, or you could call them first to let them know your concern's to make sure they have a seamstress on hand).

Yes, do this. They did this for me with all 3 of my appointments, and it was a huge help. If you don't like the bustle they show you, ask for another example of how it can be done.

My dress had a somewhat similar bottom, and the bustle was absolutely gorgeous - I almost liked the dress better bustled than with the train.

I tried that dress on, as well, and I also thought the picture didn't do it justice. So pretty.

    (This is a bad pic)
My sister did a dress like this (not sure if its the same) and it looked beautiful when it was bustled. Its a little more complicated to get it into the bustle, so make sure you take whoever will be doing it (MOH, MOB, or BM) when you get it altered so the seamstress can teach them how to do it. And whenever you are ready for it to be bustled, take a few minutes instead of rushing through it. I had to bustle my friend's dress and she was so im patient and kept moving. And she didnt take into account I was kneeling in a dress and heels.

  • I agree that you should ask your seamstress, they will know what to do and I am sure your dress will bustle just fine! :)
  • I think talking to the seamstress is always a great idea, but based on the detailing of your dress I would ask them if an Austrian bustle is a possibility.  If you don't know what it is, just google it.  I think it would coordinate well with the style.
