FI and I can not come to agreement on my son's attire for the wedding...

Originally I thought I wanted my son to be in shorts... we bought him a pair of seersucker pants (FI is wearing a seersucker suit) and I had always had the intention of getting them altered into shorts.

However, when I had him try them on this weekend to get the correct length I started to like them better as pants. So I just asked to have them hemmed up.

Well today FI was like "I thought he was wearing shorts" when I told him I liked the pants better he disagreed and said I should take them back and have them make them into shorts...

UGH!

Here are pics of my son in his outfit.. the first with the pants (without being hemmed correctly) and the second with them folded in as if they were shorts... Which way looks better???

He is such a cutie! Tough decisions! I am leaning toward the pants, unless you think he will be too hot in pants, then I would go with the shorts!! I know that is probably not much help :-)

I would have to agree with pants. This is why:
Because your FI is an adult and probably doesn't always walk around with a jacket and shorts or a boutonniere, he will look somewhat formal even with the shorts on. Your son however might look any other boy his age in shorts, the pants will help him achieve the same semi-formal look (like he "dressed up" for the occasion).
But this is just my opinion... Like the other Ladies I think he will look super cute either way

Thanks Ladies!

I did ask my son and he liked the pants. At first I thought he would be hot, but they are sooo thin and a light cotton that I'm sure he will be fine. I'll bring a pair of shorts to the reception just in case he's too hot but I think he will be good.

FI said he liked the shorts because he was a kid, but I thought the pants gave him a cute "dressed" up look. Xavier (my son) liked the pants because he said he felt sexy... YES he really said that! He actually asked if he could leave his shirt unbuttoned! He thinks he's on dancing with the stars LMAO... he's a character...

Glad you're going with the pants. I just had to comment because I saw that he thought the pants were "sexy"- hilarious! He is going to be a stud when he grows up!!!
