Ive only been to the one in North Brunswick so all I can say is the food is generally really good, but I dont know specifics about that location.

I'm a huge fan of chain restaurants, and Bertucci's is high on my list.  I am a pizza snob and I think their pizzas are actually really good.  I like that location -- and it is easy to get to for any guests coming from the city because it is really close to the PATH station.

I think he meant California Pizza Kitchen is better than Bertucci's (though I disagree Tongue out).

I'm a pizza snob too & Bertuccis is one of my favorites...perfect brick oven! I have to disagree with User, I think CPK's pizza is terrible!

The JC Bertuccis would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner!

I have to disagree with User too (sorry!).  I do like CPK when I'm in a particular mood, but it is probably my least favorite sit-down pizza chain!  I don't think it is bad, but I think the others are just that good :)

oxox, you could definitely be out of there on a reasonable schedule.  There's a bar called Dorrian's across the street from it if you (or anyone who didn't have to get married the next day) wanted to carry on.  I've never been to the JC location, but the NYC location is very famous (for being a sometimes very fun but always very obnoxious hangout of the 20- to 30-something UES prep school alum crowd ... might be fun).

I think that would be fun...a relaxed atmosphere, and you can't go wrong with pizza (or Italian).   I work down the road from there and live in JC too.  The only negative I can think of is parking.  There are only parking decks, no parking lot, and very little street parking around.  Not sure if Bertucci's validates for any of the parking decks.  It's definitely convenient if you have people coming from the city.

On the topic of good pizza, if you live in area or are here often, you must check out la rustique.  It's my favorite!

I wouldn't say either of them are good brookyn style pizza.  I like CPK better, and I mostly stick with the salads which are awesome.

Of course, they absolutely aren't NY pizza at all.  Did someone say that?  CPK is California-style pizza, and if Bertucci's is anything, it is Neapolitan.  Actually, now that I think of it -- isn't Bertucci's VPN certified?  In that case, it is definitely Neapolitan.  That is nothing like what you'd find at DiFara or L&B or Grimaldi's or Totonno's, but it isn't meant to be like them.

I'm a huge pizza snob and have been to pretty much all of the well-known NYC pizzerias of all styles.  Despite being lucky enough to go to Keste and Joe's and Motorino and Arturo's and Grandaisy Bakery very often (a huge selling point to me for moving to my current neighborhood was that Joe's delivers to our apartment and Keste is a quick walk), I still appreciate sitting down at Pizza Hut or Uno's for their junk food pizza.  It is delicious, in a completely different way than the NY places, but delicious in its own way.

Similarly, Macaroni Grill isn't Il Mulino or Del Posto, but I love it in its own way.

Sorry for the dissertation (although I promise I spared you a lot of rambling)-- When I get "You like pizza -- can you recommend a place?," I could spout off for several hours on the different styles of pizza out there and the relative merits of all of the places that serve those styles.  I can talk about pizza for hours.

I've never been to Bertucci's but they probably validate parking and youre close to the PATH and light rail so it will be easy to get to.
