Venue ideas for small wedding near Jersey City

Looking for any venue ideas for places near Jersey City (about 30-40 minute drive outside of is fine). Our guest list is about 50 people (will probably end up being about 40) and looking to get married in Sept/Oct. I'm not looking for the typical wedding with a big ballroom, dj/band, etc so out of the box suggestions are welcome also. Would prefer something small and intimate with just background music focusing on spending time together and having great food/drinks, perhaps even a very nice restaurant with a decent size party room, may even look into just a cocktail reception. Trying to keep the reception cost to $100-125pp. Thanks for your help!!

Liberty Science Center in JC is def out of the box. They do have event spaces that they rent out. The Observation Tower appears that it will be best suited for your size party. Not sure if you need to hire a caterer.

In Bayonne there is a nice restaurant called Buon Appetito, I eat there all the time and I know that they will close the restaurant for private parties. The food is amazing and you could have them cater your wedding if you go with a place that doesn't offer food. http://buonappetitoitalian.com/restaurant.html

I know a couple that got married at Trinity lounge in Hoboken. I've also been to a bridal shower at the Brass Rail, also in Hoboken. They have a private upstairs room.

I think you are the perfect candidate for a restaurant weddings. Most restaurants will close thier place down for an event. Find one you like and use that. I'd tell you to consider Amanda's in Hoboken, Azucar in Jersey City or most any other locale.

If you're interested in a restaurant reception, at a place which also has beautiful grounds for an outdoor ceremony, check out the Ramsey Golf and Country Club. You'd have the reception in the Abby side of the Club house which only holds catering events. It's about 30-40 minutes from Jersey City.

We had our wedding downstairs in the ball room, with the cocktail hour in the Abby. Take a look and see what you think. I'm pretty sure it would be within your budget.
