To Vegas then Cali! Suggestions?

So for our honeymoon in October we are going to Vegas then to Carlsbad, San Deigo and LA, CA! Any suggestions on romantic spots or awesome things to do in any of those cities? This is our first time in those areas...

    San Diego - Hotel del Coronado. Even if you don't stay there, at least go for cocktails. Perfect spot for a honeymoon!

    Vegas--so much to do! How many days are you there?

    Just for romantic things: a gondola ride at the Venetian (if you do it outside at night that's even more romantic), dinner at the top of the Paris hotel, maybe take in a Cirque show.

    LA: Griffith Park Observatory at sunset!

    San Diego: Balboa Park. Go to the La Jolla area. Beautiful.

    From Long Beach, you can take a ferry to Catalina Island for the day or an overnight.

    Vegas: stay at Mandalay Bay.  It's on one end of the strip, but the man made beach is awesome.  Then just take a walk down the strip and enjoy all the sights.

    LA area, stay at the Casa Malibu Inn (search on www.tripadvisor.com, they don't have their own website). Old fashioned but updated hotel RIGHT on the beach in Malibu, you can hear the waves if you get a beachfront room with a deck. You can walk along the beach to the Malibu Pier, there is a store on the pier.

    San Diego: there is a gondola company next to the Loew's Coronado Bay hotel (fabulous hotel), you can get a sunset gondola ride for $99 for both of you, with wine glassed (you bring your own wine), and either chocolate covered strawberries or appetizers. Coronado Bay is across the bay from San Diego, the Coronado beach has been voted one of the top beaches every year.

    In October both LA and San Diego areas should still be warm. Just google for weather in October.

    Also, if your budget allows, rent a convertible. We had a 2 week HM road trip down the coast of CA last September, rented a convertible and the top was down the entire trip except for about 3 hrs. While traveling, use the Pacific Coast Hwy, or Hwy 1, runs right along the coast.
