Bridezillas

So I'm actually sitting down and watching this tv show for the first time and I just have one question:

WTF is wrong with these women?

Re: Bridezillas

  • Most of them are too young to be getting married and/or they're spending money they don't have on a wedding they shouldn't be having either. I saw a "Where Are They Now?" episode once and nearly 1/2 of them had gotten a divorce before their 2nd anniversary. I watch it for the sheer entertainment/shock it provides. FH likes to watch with me and we laugh at how seriously ridiculous all of these women are.

Also. . . many of them appear to have drinking problems. .  so, there's that. lol

This exactly. Lol they probably got married to have their 15 mins of fame. I think the very first season was semi normal...after that its all downhill.

  • I love that show, but I watch waayyy too much 'guilty pleasure' TV. I always take that show with a grain of salt, the girls on that show get something like $2,000, so I'de be willing to bet that some of the really crazy ones ham it up for the cameras.  Their ages worry me a little, because I'm on the young side myself, so sometimes I find myself thinking "oh my gosh, I hope I don't sound so immature!"
  • I personally think a lot of it is made up drama to get ratings. Yes,  I am sure these girls are real peices of work on their own, but some of the stuff they do and things they say feel very unnatural to me. The current season, where the girl and her husband "broke up" after the ceremony but before they signed the papers feels fake to me. You only really see his family, you never see anyone in her family except her sister, you don't see much of the venue or guest interaction, and just their comments throughout the entire thing feels very staged.

I think the first season (where they showed the well-to-do girls being brats) was the most real, but as the show progresses through seasons, I think more and more is MUD done purely for ratings. However, I still like to watch the show and let my "Buzz Killington" mind go and just have my guilty pleasure moment.

  • I watch it but get more upset about the stupid guys that still marry them in the end. I think it would make for better TV if more of them got left at the altar because they act like they deserve that.  The Where Are They Now episodes are my favorite because I really do want to see who is still together and if my predictions were right.  However, these latest seasons have been obnoxious.. I could swear one of the girls that threw grapes at the camera and told him to get out was trying not to smile and laugh through it.  So annoying...

Don't mean to revive an older thread but yes, I agree with this!

Just had to comment because I'm currently watching "The Best of Bridezillas". Yay for Sunday mornings!
