How is everyone feeling on their check lists? Any big (or little) checks to share?

Well, I haven't posted any checks in a while. Here's what I've got done the last week:

-Met with venue, confirmed lots of stuff, decided on food, etc. Was very pleased to see they are renovating and now have neutral curtains, etc! lol

-Took my dress to the seamstress to start alterations. So happy with myself that even after having a baby, I fit back into it with some room to spare

-Started making invitations.

-Almost finished my cupcake stand!

I have a negative check...

My aunt was originally going to make our wedding cake (she offered - I never asked), and has decided that she doesn't want to mess things up, so she doesn't feel comfortable making it. Back to the drawing board for this one. I just do not want to pay $1,000 for a stupid cake.

No WR checks but we're pre-qualified for the house and I'm traveling this weekend to sign the contract! Fingers crossed it continues to go so well!

I talked to my boss today and I get tomorrow off! I helped him so much with this giant grant that he was writing and got it turned in early. Tomorrow I'll be doing some DIY and continuing the house hunt.

I just realized that the 06.30 ladies dont get a 4 months to go day, since there is no 30th this month!!

Ncd- What company did you prequalify with if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to decide what place to use for us.

We went with Tidewater Mortgage. We had spoken with 2 other companies and this one was definitely the best. Each company had different requirements so I would definitely look at a couple different ones. TW works with the builder and they help with closing costs, which is another reason we went with them. They were really great to work with and answered every question I had (I ask a lot of questions)! If you need anymore information let me know!

Checks (I'm posting again from yesterday seeing how TK ate my post):

Had a lengthy discussion with FI about wedding plans. He typically hasn't been involved in much of it, but I needed his aspect on some of this stuff.

-Day before - I will be taking FI's daughter along with my girls to get our nails done. Then we will have the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner. After that, my mom will take my son (still have to ask her, but I'm pretty sure she'll be fine with it or my brother will take him), FI's ex will take the kids, and I'll be off to the hotel with my girls & FI will be at our house with his guys.

-Day of my mother will get FI's daughter and bring her to the hotel. We will then be getting our hair & makeup done there, so no need to leave the hotel until time to go to the church.

-HM: We will be leaving on Sunday afternoon/evening after spending Father's day with the kids (wedding is Friday evening). We will drive to NY and stay over somewhere (have no idea yet) and have dinner/relax for the night. The next morning we will continue our drive to the Poconos Palace Resort where we will be staying from Monday and coming back on Friday.

-Our venue pricing went up $4 pp so when we have our details appt at the end of the month. We want just a simple grilled chicken entree so we are going to see if we can negotiate the price at all. I really hope so!

Urchin; love that cupcake stand.

Checks: just going back and forth about the order everything is supposed to go in since my DO coordinator wants something different than I do. We came to a resolution I think though.

My MOH called to ask me if it was ok to host my shower jointly with my FMIL; I gave her to go-ahead so we set a date - April 28th!

Posted this on the FB group but its still grating my nerves. I got the shower invitation in the mail yesterday for one of my showers but one of the bridesmaids who wanted to help host it was left of the hosts of the showers. She is upset and putting me in the middle, ugh

Kelsey, maybe you can do a two tier wedding cake and serve the guests cupcakes? It might be less expensive that way. That's what we're doing.

My aunt is actually going to make the cupcakes and we will have a small wedding cake for the two of us and any guests that don't want chocolate rum cupcakes.

I have one tiny check.
I started looking for a videographer today. Hoping I can find a decently priced one that still has our date open!

Cake wasn't a big important thing for us and we wanted to use the money elsewhere so we got ours at a local grocery store.. only $300 to cover 200 people. One small stacked cake and the rest in sheet cakes are always a great alternative to one giant cake.

Set the date for shower #1 (champagne brunch for the CA contingent of the guest list) and my mom's vase arrived. Its engraved beatifully from SayAnything Design and was sooo much cheaper than retail places. Gotta love Etsy!

FMIL booked (finally - I was getting nervous!) and paid the deposit for our rehearsal dinner. I finished the centerpieces for our smaller tables - just need to add water beads and submersible lights when we set up. We've been slowly working on our pre-cana online.

FI paid for my wedding ring today! Now it just has to be sized. He placed the order for his ring today so I'll go pay for it when it comes in. I will definitely post a pic when my ring comes in. It's so pretty! We also decided on a calligrapher for the invites so hopefully we can get those addressed this month.
