The one flower I really wanted for my wedding...

The entire crop died in the blizzard that came and crashed through NJ over the weekend.

I got a fall from my florist today and she was very sad to tell me that my Dahlia's are a no go. So now I have Chrysanthemums and Gerbera Daisies still in my wedding and she wanted to know my opinion on Protea's (probably the smaller kind not the king size) and Cockscomb.

Hopefully they will all look fantastic together but I guess I'll see this weekend.

It just goes to show you that you can worry about things going wrong all you want, and you may think everything will go off without any problems- but something always happens, even a blizzard in October.

I am pretty sure she can order them in.  Unless she only buys local (which I doubt especially if she uses a wholesaler) she can certainly get them in within a day or two.

No you can't order them this late... trust your florist and go with the flow...
In the northeast whilesalers need a week lead time at least for California ... let Her find you something beautiful with what is available...
Tulips are back... maybe that's an option...

sorry... I love Dahlias too and all mine got frosted yeaterday... I think you need to tell your future hubby you want them for next year... and anytime he can get them...

God still holds the cards on weather... gotta go with it!
But It is supposed to be a nice weekend!  have a beautiful wedding and go with the unexpected .. LOL
