Escort cards

When are you buying these without knowing the final headcount of guests and table seating??

Re: Escort cards

  • We are ordering some that will actually be business cards from vistaprint. We will put mr. ____ and table ___ and get a box of 250 and fill in the blanks by hand.

    Anniversary
  • I am making mine and will be waiting until most of our RSVP's are back.  I set our date 5 weeks before the wedding to give me time to get these things done.

  • we're making ours...but if we weren't going that route I would have purchased business cards from VP & had

     ________name goes here_________

    Table _____# goes here______

  • We got ours with our invitatons and table number cards so they all coordinate. So we ordered the number of our guest list.

  • I'm ording mine from Vista Print. They are blank though so I'll fill in the names once RSVP's come in. I'm ordering th closest amount I can to the guest list. Its a little more than I need but I'm sure I'll make mistakes!

  • Mine are going to be little pieces of wood with their names on them and wrapped around a long nail with wire.  The nail will stick out of a small wooden box filled with flower foam and covered with moss. --trying to bring in the construction worker in my FI with our theme.  I saw it in a magazine and loved it.

I'll start on the ones I KNOW are coming and hold off on the others (or so I will try.)  It's hard to leave things half done.  I may do all that haven't said NO already and then just use the rsvps that decline as kindling.
  • Great thanks girls!
  • @Sunshine - do you have an inspiration picture? That sounds really interesting, but I'm not sure I'm totally picturing what you're doing.

  • We aren't doing escort cards - we are doing a table with lots of vintage-y frames, one frame per table, which will list who is at each table. We will then have individual place cards at each table.

We bought some cute ivory and silver ones at Jo Ann Fabrics and are DIY-ing the place cards. We are buying some silver bow charms to tie onto the place cards with ribbon, and the color of the ribbon signifies what meal the person ordered. My mom made me buy about 100 extras in case fiance and I screw up multiple pages worth, haha, but they were SUPER cheap, so it was worth it to us. We are DIY-ing these so we don't have to worry about ordering/getting them back in time, etc.
  • I'm writing my seating chart on an old multi pane window and then the place cards are all pinwheels... I made all the pinwheels so I just have to go back and tag them with little name flags once the RSVPs roll in. I gave myself a month window as well to get the colors arranged and the tags done.
  • moonshine - those pinwheels sound soooo cute!!! I can't wait to see how they turn out.
  • moonshine - What are you using to write on your window pane? I bought chalk ink pens but am looking for other ideas.

We're doing something similar, but with a vintage mirror. There will be place settings with people's names written on doilies (covered with clear chargers) as place settings.
