Wedding Website

I still haven't created my website yet. Just curious, did you all use TK or did you use a different website?

Re: Wedding Website

  • I used weebly.com.

  • How long did it take you? I haven't started mine yet because I am very intimidated by the process.

  • Not very long. I have several sections listed in it too.

I used the TK one.  I thought it was great!

  • Thanks! I haven't started mine because we haven't had our engagement pictures done yet so I would like to have them on there and we also haven't done our registries yet. I want to get these two things done and then create the website.

You can start getting the wesbite together before you add your e-pics and registries.  I think those were the last things I added.  It was great, because the whole thing was done by the time I got those items added!

TK ate my post!  Darn it!

I was trying to say that you can start working on the website before you have your e-pics and registries done.  I had my website ready to go and those were the last two things I added.  It worked out great for me!

ETA: Oh nevermind - it appeared.  Haha.  TK is acting hinky today.

  • What Rochelle said. I started it and then just finished it not that long ago (I kind of forgot about it!). I waited to add in the WP info until we had everyone asked also.

  • Thanks Rochelle, I was actually wondering if I should go ahead and get started on it even those I don't have either of those things done yet. I have noticed my posts to posting right away either today!

  • We used the Knot as well for our site. I liked the automatic guestbook (although honestly, not many people have signed. Oh well) and the photo album.

  • No website, but we have an app.  I built it through AppyCouple.com.  I think it was $28, and everyone LOVES it.  It's very user friendly as well.

<div>That sounds really cool! I haven't heard of that. I saw where you can build an app for people to download to take pictures at the reception. Have you heard of that? I think that sounds pretty cool</div>

<div>I have seen several of these apps, and I'm considering setting one up. I don't know how many of my guests would use it, but I thought it might be something fun to do. I have also considered setting up a group Shutterfly account and putting cards out at the reception (or including them with the favors) with the details. My FH hasn't expressed interest either way, so... we'll see what my family thinks, haha.</div>

<div>Thats a good idea as well! I don't use shutterfly but I know what it is(I used photobucket a loooong time ago, before the world of smartphones), would people be able to take pictures on their phone and upload it to shutterfly or would it have to uploaded with a camera?</div>

  • I used projectwedding.com
Super user friendly and it has cute layouts and backgrounds

  • I like free websites best as well. I don't think my guests would download an app (and most have smartphones) I don't know that many people that use instagram often, for example. So, I don't know if they would share photos taken that day.

I do like the Shutterfly share site idea, however.

I also like how the knot websites are searchable by name on the Knot, and it also hooks into registries easily.

This one has that feature too!  We sent enclosure cards with our STDs that had the log-in, and I'd say 40% of our guests have downloaded it.

  • I did it through weebly because I could change the background and colors from a template into something else--I was getting really frustrated on other sites like TK because I couldnt' find a template that seemed like it would work for me.

I put mine together in about 8 hours worth of work, but that includes trying to change the background to different colors, different images, and setting up 8 pages with pictures and text.  I did it over 4 days.
  • I used TK. It was easy. If I don get a job soon I might practice my HTML and make my own but the knots is great.
