Anyone familiar with spray tan?

I am very white! lol I am debating on getting a spray tan or using my self tanner stuff. Will the spray tan rub off on my dress? would you get it the day before the wedding or sooner?

10 days to go and now I worry about the little things!!

I would get it done at least two days before. You are supposed to wait 24 hrs before you shower after a spray tan, and as long as you shower at least once before you put on your dress it shouldn't rub off. HTH!

I got mine done yesterday. I love Mystic spray tans, and they aren't streaky, and don't rub off.

I got a mystic tan too. With the type I got, you shower 4-6 hours after getting the tan done. I waited about 5. I also did it 3 days before for a little buffer time in case it wasnt perfect. If you go, make sure the person tells you how to stand (and make you sure understand EXACTLY what to do before going in- you dont want tan palms!)

I am a big fan of spray tanning. If you are getting married on s Saturday I would get it done on Thursday.

It might be too late now, but i would be great if you could try it once before your wedding to get the color right.

And no, the color wont come off on your wedding dress.

A couple of helpful hints, shave and exfoliate before you get sprayed. After you get sprayed wear loose clothing and no bra for the next couple of hours while the color "sets," if you want the color to last longer, when you get out of the shower pat yourself dry with a towel instead of rubbing the water off of you.

I would also really recommend having a person do the spray tan and not a machine. They can customize it to you. Have you seen that episode of friends with Ross and the spray tan machine?

Random fact, if you do get a spray tan and you HATE it, jump in a pool. The chlorine will strip the color right off you. That can also serve as a warning for your honeymoon.

I agree with Sabrina - go with a Mystic. However, I would try it if you can a week before so you can see what it will look like and how streaky it can be if you don't really rub it in well.

I am a mystic advocate! I've tried VersaSpa too and to be honest they totally suck in comparison. Mystics are very even, natural, and dry very fast.

For mystic the rule is 4-6 hours before getting wet, so I always wait a minimum of 6 before showering or working out. I would recommend you get it 2-3 days ahead of time just in case you end up darker than you wanted so you have some time to exfoliate.

Be sure to shower and exfoliate right before you go to get the most even color possible!

I agree with mystic. I havnt decided if I am doing it or not, ( 2 weeks of bed tanning I am thinking I might be ok, im not super duper dark, but it does seem more natural since its not the middle of summer), but thats what I have been recommended and what friends have used.

10 days away from your wedding... I wouldn't try something new... what if you got a weird reaction to the spray tan, or it makes your skin a weird color?
