anybody else out there on 9/14/12? if so, where are you and how did you feel about donig a friday? cant believe it's less than a year away!! :)

    I might be 9/13 since we are doing a Thursday wedding.  Where will you be getting married?

    I am having a Friday wedding and am planning the wedding in 10 months.  It was a bit stressful at first, but overall I think it's better than having a longer time to plan.  I was just forced to make decisions instead of researching everything under the sun.  Right now I have 6 months left and the only big things left on my to-do list are the BM dresses, tuxes and transportation.

    I wasn't thrilled about a Friday wedding, but it was the compromise we had to make to get the venue and time frame we wanted.  Honestly, most of our family is around here anyways, so we are only asking them to take 1/2 day from work (ceremony is at 3 pm).

    shaina - we are at atlantic beach club in middeltown. the date sort of picked us. i called late august and they were BOOKED. then we looked around...didnt find anything we liked, and/or in our budget :) so i called again. there was now a hold on 9/14. a girl that used to work at ABC had it and they were being lenient on the hold because of that. i got "next in line" for that day b/c she wasnt returning calls to really book the date, so ABC called her one more time to see if she wanted it. turns out she had booked somewhere else, so we snatched it up!! it must have been meant to be :)

    lomlboat - we are down to about 11 months, so i understand about making decisions quickly. luckily i have been hanging out on here and we already had a good idea of which vendors we wanted to try and use, so now we just need to contact and start booking. i dont know what i would do with myself if we had a longer time - i think i would just psych myself out more! we werent thrilled about friday bc we do have most all OOT guests but now its a way for them to make more of a weekend out of it  and not spend their whole weekend traveling back and forth.

    We sent out save the dates just a month ago and OOT guests are already saying they want to make a trip out of our wedding, since it'll be in Newport in May.  Hopefully be nice, but without all the crowding of the summer and it'll make a longer trip worthwhile.

    9/14 here too! I am okay with a friday evening wedding simply because 1. were saving money 2. our guest list is pretty small (120) and they are the people close to us who I know wont make a stink of it being on friday. I have actually had a few people say they prefer friday night weddings because they still have the whole weekend ahead of them. We are starting ours at 5:30 pm, hopefully that will give people time to get there and leave us with enough light to do our pictures.
