Babies?

So when is everyone planning to have babies?

FI and I want to start right away but not sure what that will exactly be. We are not preventing anything now or after the wedding. I have PCOS and due to this we do not have any idea of what our chances of having kids will be. As of right now it is kind of slim so the sooner we start the more time we have to actually have a baby.

FI and I can't wait to be parents, but we'll have to wait about 8 years for that to happen because of his schooling.

Sometime in the next 5 years or never. I'll be 30 in June, so we can't wait too long if we decide to have any.

FI and I aren't getting married until next year, so we have to wait until after that. I am graduating in May and have a job lined up, and FI graduates next May, so we both want to have steady jobs before having a child. We would also like to have a house before getting pregnant because I don't want to raise a child in an apartment (not judging anyone who does, it's just not my personal preference), so if I add all that time up I probably won't be having a child for about 5-6 years.

I also want to lose weight and get healthy before having a child just because of all of the risks that come with being pregnant while overweight.

For us it is pretty much whenever it happens. He doesn't have the greatest chances of having children, due to his hobby of being in the rodeo (or that's why the doctor said).

We're thinking of going off birth control early next year and whatever happens happens. That gives us about a year of being married before adding anyone else

And a year of getting in shape to be pregnant!

well we have been together for almost 10yrs and he will be 40 next month o.O i am already 36... we also have owned the house for 7 years - i just want one and don't think it will be an instant thing so we are trying from night one

Well it'll be 2 years before he's done with school and one or both of us will have a job at that point or shortly thereafter. We've talked about trying once we're financially stable and know where we're living. So probably 3-4 years from now, minimum.

I doubt if I will have kids I will be 40 when we get married FI will be 42

Never thought I wanted kids, but I'm at least considering it now. If we ultimately decide to try it won't be for another 2-3 years (I'm trying to get settled into my career and FI is in school, not the best timing to have one right now).

My little sister is on kid #2 right now, so there is a little bit of pressure because I would want cousins to be close in age so they could play together. I'm hoping she goes for kid #3 in like 2 years!

@ entropic... I never thought I wanted kids either, until I got pregnant. I wouldn't change it for the world. I think it was because I was settled in my career and stable in life. You will know if and when it is right!!

WE like to do things backwards, so we are done having kids. I have 2 from a previous marriage and we have one together. I also have PCOS, and did have a hard time getting preggo with my first.. My 2nd I got preggo w/ ON Birth control! (( in hind sight, I guess it forced me to ovulate, and then missing a pill gave the opp.)) My 3rd, was a super happy accident! We weren't being all that careful, but didn't mind if something happend!

We aren't being careful at all. We use no protection all we do is FI pulls out (tmi?) anyways so far we haven't gotten pregnant. And yes sometimes he goes in me so who knows how things will go for us. I love hearing how others with PCOS have babies it gives me great hope! But it seems to be that the first one is the hardest.

My FI and i are waiting at least 5 years since i will be 21 when we get married and he will only be 23 when we get married. I also have an IUD (tim?) and it has worked perfect so far. that comes out in 2 years after we get married and i have heard they want you to wait 6 months before you try for a child... is this true? Im totally not in a hurry for babies since everything else has been super fast. Engaged 3 months after meeting and married a little over 2 years after meeting. i think we can take some things slow. i want to do all the thing i want to do before we think of babies, but if it happens it happens, he is ready for kids any time, me on the other hand the longer we wait the better i still want to be a kid for a while. good luck to all of those ladies out there who are trying. im sure it will happen when your ready and when GOD knows your ready.

I have two beautiful boys that make me a better person everyday and wouldn't trade them for the world!!!! HOWEVER... WE WILL NOT BE DOING THE BOOGIE WOOGIE (at least not a whole lot) until our vow renewal is over with, lol I'm about to be 28 this year, so I think we will try to shoot for a girl just once more afterwards, if not, I will just continue to treat my two niece's like they are my own!

Our wedding is in June. We're going to nix the BC in January of next year and see what happens. We're both a little older. I'm 33, he's 36. We don't want to wait too long to have kids.

Not sure on this one. I get baby fever a lot! I work in an infant room at a child care, and holding a fresh 6 week old baby... oh my how I want one! BUT, then I remember they are only little like that for so long. I know FI is not ready to have kids, right away. With that said he doesn't want me on the pill either. Either way I'm okay. We will see what happens. For everyone who is trying right away, I wish you baby luck!
