Question: Selling dress???

I've NEVER been the type to hold on to things with "sentimental" value so I got my dress cleaned for the knottie TTD cux there was this HUGE pink icing stain in the front...this was when I was enjoying our cupcake at the wedding Tongue out

I would love to have a TTD with DH as well but after that then what?Undecided

The thought of selling it brakes my heart....NEVER in a million years did I think this what going to happen to me.

So if you decided to keep...why?

AND...

If you sold it...why?

Just want to know what other ladies are thinking Laughing

I will never sell it! I love it where it is...hanging in my closet! It brings me so many memories and whenever I feel like going back to that wedding day...I just go into the closet, take it out and just stare at it. It feels great!

So, how much they charge you for cleaning it? I'm dropping mine off this weekend. I just want to get an idea. Thanks :)

I only had the pink stained removed so she didn't charge me anything.

So I'm NO help sorry Frown but I must say she did an awesome job...I was so scared it was going to stain it looked like this HOT pink when it started drying BUT after getting it yesterday where was the pink stain? Tongue out

Do u need to get it cleaned? Maybe you can pull it off like that?

I am keeping mine and my MIL is going to make christening gowns and parts of it for baby blankets.  I'm sure if I had a daughter that she wouldn't want to wear my gown so I figured this was the next best thing.

I'm so with you on this one...it's weird when I hear girls saving it for their kids. I sure wouldnt want to wear something outdated. Unless they re-make the dress like reesy did.

<div>Reesy's dress was so cute!  I won't even give my girl an option like that, I prefer to go shopping!</div>

Reesey's dress was soooo pretty Laughing

But I'm with you gals...I can NEVER imagine wearing my mother dress...1st of all we have such DIFFERENT taste the thought of it scares me lol and  I know my mother to well she would NEVER allow me to "destroy" (that would be the word she would use) her dress.

    Jagore good idea!!!

No freaking way!  My dress is MINE.

It waited enough years on the rack for me, just as I spent enough years dreaming about it in my head that there isn't a reason under the sun that I would let any other bride wear it unless it was a daughter of mine(and that is if she took care of it--if I had a daughter and she turned out to be a brat I wouldn't let her near it).

It has been perserved in fully enclosed muslin mesh box. I was so glad to go to a local consignment shop and find the most perfect cedar chest for it.  The dress now sits in that chest at the foot of our bed undisturbed until 3 years from now where I plan to make a trip out to see my parents and at the same time have the dress refolded (for free) by my preserving people.

I agree. I never in a million years would have worn my mom's wedding gown, so I don't hold high hopes for that. I don't know if I'll keep it or sell it or donate it yet.

And my wedding was yesterday and my dress is filthy! After pics downtown my train had dirt on it - and I had it bustled! The underside was filthy too!
