Last night I spent about an hour reading over the packet for my class for VBS. I am so excited to help show these little ones about the amazing God we have.

awh...i loved helping out with VBS!!!! (: the children can be just sooo amazing! Future leaders!

My inspiration is my FI. He is absolutely amazing and has soo much to offer! He has a bad past and through it all he has found himself in God. My FI dropped out of high school when he was 17 and after getting right with God he got his GED (he passed it on the first try!), finished his freshman year at Southwestern Assemblies of God University online with academic honors, finished a ministry program called Leadership School of Southern California, finished a program to be certified with Hillsong United, AND mentored tons of teenage boys for the past 9 months!
i am forever in awe of this man i am about to marry.

My FI's life is a BEAUTIFUL story of the redemptive heart of God. That no matter where you were in life...... you can turn it all around and give God the glory. (:

My FI is forever my inspiration. (:

*sorry for the mush..... but thats how i feel right now. lol *

Monica, that is a great story about your FI. He sounds like a wonderful man and the fact that he has been able to turn his life around in such a positive way is inspiring for sure!

On April 27, violent tornados ripped through my state, including my hometown and my college town, both of which mean a lot to me.  In the wake of tragedy and incredible loss, God has been ridiculously faithful.  Our state has come together in a way I never thouht I'd see.  FEMA announced that more was done in a week in Alabama than what was done in 6 months after Katrina.  These "rednecks" and "good ol' boys" know what it means to work hard and how to show Southern hospitality.  It's been amazing.

Outside of Alabama, people don't understand the Alabama/Auburn rivalry.  It's SERIOUS.  The passion is so high and the tension so thick that people have fought and shot fans of the other team.  Our rivalry is forever changed.  While the passion is still there, we got the reminder that we are all brothers and sisters in Chris, we are all neighbors in this state.  This was accomplished because thousands and thousands of Auburn fans are in Tuscaloosa, feeding and dress Alabama fans, helping cleanup and rebuild.

It was hard to get back into wedding planning after seeing the devastation.  Most of us who weren't directly affected almost feel guilty because we were spared.  God reminded me that the buildings that are gone can be rebuilt. Lives are only destroyed when souls are taken from Him.  He told me that all the destruction was worth it if just one person who didn't know Him cried His Name.  THAT is what has inspired me for the last few weeks.  He's in control, whether you're planning a wedding or pulling your life up from a pile of rubble.

@adrinkard, I can't even begin to understand what it is like down there after everything has happened. But I will say this, seeing people come together and helping each other out in a time of such destruction is so amazing. Even if they are Auburn fans helping 'Bama fans (I'm a tennessee fan, so I kinda get the rivalry thing).

<div>It's unbelievable.  I haven't been to Tuscaloosa yet but FI went last week.  He is a dodo Auburn fan (I'm an Alabama fan) but went to UA and said it was hard on him.  If he teared up, I know I will be in pieces.  I was when I went to my hometown.  Oh yeah, you get the rivalry.  We had a truck come from Knoxville last week that a bunch of Vols fans put together.  Even though I despise UT (even more than AU), I have a whole new respect for the fans.</div>

adrinkard- that gave me chills. You are so right.

Monica- Your FI is inspiring for sure. I know he will continue to help others, especially boys who are going through the same things he did. Awesome!
