Cleaning Old Lace

Just wanted to let everyone know if you need to clean old lace to get the yellow out- Oxyclean!!

I took my Moms lace veil last night from 1976 and soaked it for an hour in oxyclean (water turned a nasty color of yellow), rinsed it, and resoaked it for a little over an hour and it looks almost new!

I am very excited to put the lace onto a new veil and add some pearls! Pictures to come (eventually!)

Thanks for sharing! I've been meaning to clean my Mom's wedding lace gloves so that I can wear them for my ceremony in a few weeks. I will try it this weekend! They are from 1983 so almost as old. Your veil sounds like it is going to be beautiful!
