So our venue recently told us that our vendors need proof of insurance...(which i understand). But our dj which is a family friend and who we already booked with a nonrefundable deposit (months ago) does not have insurance. So the venue says they cant allow him as our dj. Well I flip out becuase before even signing the contract we met with two different people four times there and never once was this (vendors needing insurance) ever mentioned. Not only that but in our contract there is nothing mentioned about this either. Im just mad because i just found this out , that the vendors need insurance, dont you think they should tell you this before people start looking at vendors....like seriously i've been back and fourth waiting for answers and i finally had enough today and i emailed the wedding cord and ask her what was the status on the dj issue ( i asked if we could write a waiver of some sort and have the dj sign and i would get noterized) she said she would check with her manager (which she told me over a week ago also). So she emailed me back saying she spoke to the gm and there is nothing they can do...well i flipped ! we are putting over 16k into this place and now they r going to say we cant have the dj we want (keep in mind all this would have never happened if they told us in the begining or at least in the contract the insurance ting). So I emailed them saying basically I think they are at fault and so now im out of money on the dj, and are they going to pay me back the money i put down on the dj already and i also said something along the lines of looking into other places. It really isnt about losing the money on the dj at this point its the principal... so i just got a voicemail from the gm saying maybe we can work things out etc... I havent called back yet probably will tomorrow. My fiance is also p.o'ed.... are we over reactng ? Please be honest !
