Weekly Checks!

So...how did everyone do this week??? What's on the agenda for next week?

THIS PAST WEEK
I didn't get very much done. I TRIED to order my invitations online, but it looks like I need to go in to the store. At least I have the wording all done though.

THIS UPCOMING WEEK
-Go order the invitations!!! This HAS to get done this week.
-look for shoes?

This week we finally purchased our wedding bands (and I keep going into our room to look at them, haha) and we're working on making song choices for the cake cutting, bridal party entrance, first dance, etc, etc.

This week I MUST decide on a hair/ makeup place. I don't know why I've been procrastinating on that. And I want us to pin down a date to get engagement pics done (looks like sometime in June). I've also been trying to figure out favors and what else I want to get bridesmaids (already got them super cute wristlet purses from the Coach outlet). And I also want to make my appointment for alterations.

I'm getting excited that the wedding is getting closer so it means the planning is almost done!!

  • This week my main goal is finding a seamstress!!!! We have moved and there is nothing in our area, looks like I'm going to have to broaden my search to a 3hr driving radius - not fun! Other than that I'm just waiting to hear back on price lists for linen rentals, and I want to finalize the menu and get that out of the way.
  • Last week I made my first fitting appointment. I also nailed down a rehearsal time with our deacon. We also turned in information to our DJ. And my girls finally ordered their dresses!!

This week we are meeting with our venue, so food should be finalized. And I should figure out what decor I will be getting into. We also might look for rings!
  • This past week I:
    - signed the contract & mailed in the deposit for my H&MU artist
    - bought our wedding bands

This coming week I plan to:
    - look some more into invites
    - look some more into toasting flutes, cake serving sets, and cake toppers

I accomplished a whole lot of not much last week. I did meet with my hairstylist and tentatively discussed my hairstyle.

This week I really want to order my hair accessories and jewelry but I'm being incredibly indecisive. Way too many good options!

  • Last week: Made a centerpiece mock up. Love it.
Prepared a number of bottles for the rest of the real centerpieces (Thanks
to everyone on the FB site for the sticker advice).

This week: Go to a cake tasting with FMIL today, hopefully am not forced to vent here
                       afterward.
Force FI to get fitted for tux for FSIL's wedding.
Look into pricing for my wedding band or find a slight alternative.
Send pictures of ceremony site to florist.

My handwriting is really bad too, but ya know what I figured? That envelope is just gonna get tossed, so who cares? Is anyone else just hand writing them?
  • i'm just going to write them in nicer (hopefully) cursive, myself. i just need to practice a bit because i haven't really written in cursive since third grade. i was hoping to get a book or something but i can't find anything at craft stores. i'm half tempted to just find a nice font and copy/paste the names and just practice by going over that.

  • Oh man, I totally slacked this weekend in terms of wedding prep - but it was a fabulous weekend!! I think I needed that.

    My goals for this week:
Work on invitations/inserts (print/emboss) - goal is to have all sent out by June 1st.
Design the dish set for FI's cousin (bridal shower gift)
    Work on tissue packs

Once we do the tasting next week and are 100% sure about the menu, I'll print out all the cootie catchers and work on those. We are having our e-pics done next week too so once we have those, I'll get the announcements ready for the local paper (in my home town).

<div>I've heard of some brides suggesting to print the address on the envelopes in very, very slight gray and trace over it. I don't know, I really don't want to get too nuts with this lol. Like PP said, people really do just glance and throw away. At this point, I'll try my workbook that's coming for fun, but I'm 99% sure I'm just going to neatly print.</div>

I've also seen the tracing technique be done.  While it looks good, if you aren't perfect, the lines are visible...this happened to a friend of mine.

I also moved, but i found that when i posted on the board of the area closest to where I moved...(I'm 90 minuets from Atlanta) the girls were helpful.
