Budget Venues - Paying for wedding yourself?

Hi All! We are looking for an affordable venue in the St. Louis area, preferably within 10 miles of downtown. Does anyone have any venue suggestions for a venue under $2000 to rent? Also - is anyone else out there paying for their own wedding? I think we are going to have to get creative with some DIY!!!! :-) Would LOVE to hear what you did!!!!!!!!!

    How big are we talking?And are you looking for ceremony or reception or both? 

    I'm looking at a place called Seven Gables Inn next week and I'm super excited. It's in Clayton.

    will probably have around 150 at the wedding - check ing out city cottage, magic house, oliva, and WOW....

    We are having ours at Trinity Lutheran Church in Soulard.  The Pastor is great and the church is really pretty.  No classes required and no testing.  With the Pastor, venue rental and musicians, I think it's only around 950.  Not too bad!
