How to incorporate a 12 year old boy?

I have a 12 year old boy cousin that I would like to be part of the wedding. I feel like he is too old to be a ring bearer and too young for as a reader at our ceremony. Wondering if anyone else has an idea of what he can in order to involve him in our wedding or if anyone else is in this situation?

    Jr Groomsman or an usher?

my brother is 14 and he's going to be an usher (I didn't ask my FI to make my brothers GM since he doesn't know them THAT well).  Him and my 21 brother will be ushers along with my 22 year old step-sister (she lives in another state, we aren't that close, but I wanted her to have a role in the wedding).  We might also make them readers.  FI has a 12 year old girl cousin he was kind of close to when he live in Oregon and his mom brought up involving her (of course MONTHS after we had already picked our wedding party..grrr)  Anyways, we thought about how to include her and decided we'd ask her to hang out programs.  I know it doesn't sound like much, but FI insists she will love just being a part of the wedding.  We might also have her do a short reading if we need one.

Maybe these different things will work for you?  I have 5 siblings and 1 step-sibling, so giving them all a role in the wedding, while leaving room for friends made for a very large wedding party, but whatever.  HTH

I agree with pp about handing out programs.  That way he is a visible part of the Wedding, but wouldn't need a tux or anything.
