Nevada-Las Vegas

Thinking Vegas, off the strip

My fiance and I first 'met' (more like he admired from afar and I was too busy doing whatever the hell I was doing) at a golf tourny. We love the idea of a Vegas wedding mostly bc all of our family is spead out all over the US and tickets are typically cheap. We looked into some of the hotels but kinda felt like it wasnt as intimate as we were wanting. We did some browsing and found beautiful country clubs in the Las Vegas area and felt that was a little more 'us'.  The Siena Country Club is very appealing, but my question is has anyone else has a Vegas wedding off the strip? How was it? Where was it? How was the whole experience? Also! Those that have had a wedding at one of the hotels, how was your experince? We are looking to spend 10k with a guest list of about 40-50.  Let me know whats up!

Re: Thinking Vegas, off the strip

  • I know there are several brides on here who have married off-strip whether it be Freemont area, Chapel of the Flowers and three or four golf/country clubs I've seen mentioned.  I'm sure some of the golf folks will chime in soon.  As far as an off-strip hotel, that will definitely get you more for your dollar.  Check out Platinum http://www.theplatinumhotel.com/

  • Definitely check out Misora at The Platinum Hotel! It would be perfect for your size group and as VG said, you get more for your dollar! I loved it, because it was just behind the strip, so people have plenty of choice of hotels, transportation is easy, and you get a gorgeous view of the strip.

Direy had a gorgeous golf course wedding, though I can't remember where. Also check out Bali Hai.
  • We were married at the Revere Golf Club in Henderson (reviews and pics in my bio).  The whole experience was fantastic.  We live in Aspen but have friends & family scattered all over the country and it would have been way too expensive for them to travel here (not to mention how expensive a wedding would be here as well).  We wanted something just like we would have done at home, which is why we chose a golf course.

We had 84 guests and set up a group block at Green Valley Ranch - almost all of our guests stayed there.  People loved the resort, even though it was off-strip.  We went ahead and hired shuttle busses to transport people to & from the wedding so that nobody had to worry about cabs or driving.

  • I have 2 suggestions for you... Just click the name for the website
First - The Las Vegas Country Club my sister is getting married here in April and they have been great so far. Las Vegas Convention Center and easily accessible from the strip
Second - Angel Park Las Vegas(golf course) I went to one of my employees wedding their in summer and it was really nice.  It is located in Summerlin, west of the strip and has 2 large Hotels across from it the Suncoast and The Rampart.

    Hope this helps
  • I went to an open house at Siena with a friend. It was a beautiful. I know they were willing to work with budgets. You might want to look at getting transportation for your guests if they're staying on the strip to get them to your venue.

  • We looked at Revere golf course beautiful view and the wedding coordinator is awesome! WE also looked at Rio Secco, aboslutely beautiful but they have an F&B minimum that our party will be too small to meet.  We decided on Wildhorse which is quite nice and the coordinator there is so nice! Everyone there is so nice. It's a bit more casual and the prices are really good.  It's also right around the corner from where we live and where everyone will be staying, I'm very excited!  Also if you want very off the strip, check out Mt Charleston, my friend got married there and it was beautiful.

  • We're getting married at one of the Griffin Mansions, and though it's gorgeous and way off the Strip, I have to tell you not to do it. Let's just say that it took them six months to get back to us on how much it would cost for a different cake frosting.

Hope you find somewhere great, and congratulations!
