Outdoor dress?

I found the dress of my dreams.. I feel beautiful in it... I just don't know if it has the feel of an outdoor dress (It is a shiny satin mermaid style). Does it matter??

I don't think it matters. I would only base my dress on the formality of the wedding (very upscale outdoor wedding or a backyard BBQ).

I don't think it matters, even the formality of the party doesn't matter to me. You can dress any gown up or down with your accessories and veil/head piece.

I agree it doesn't matter. I originally thought it did too and tried to find more outdoor/beach (my wedding is on a beach) type dresses, but ultimately what I fell in love w/ was a fairly shiny satin dress. I think you have to go with what you love regardless of what the typical dress for the location is.

i don't think it matters. i was concerned about that as well (we are having a garden wedding), and i think my dress will go fine. whatever you feel prettiest in is the most important!!

You are just getting married once, so it should be the dress of your dreams! I love my dress, am getting married at the beach and it might not be the most practical for the ceremony in the sand, but its just my perfect wedding dress, so will make it work no matter what

If you love it, then style it to fit your venue and your celebration!

I don't think it matters--wear what you love! I picked a lighter weight chiffon gown based on the fact that it was beautiful with TONS of beading and detailed...and it's lightweight. I personally couldn't wear something heavier on a hot day. I had to remember that I could be wearing this gown in nice weather, hot weather, windy weather...you know, everything that goes with nature!

We are also having an outdoor ceremony. My dress is shiney Taffeta with crystals on the neckline and across the hips (in bands). At first I didn't think my dress would fit the style of my wedding but I couldn't pass it up because I loved it. Now I can't wait to see the crystals in the sunlight.

I think if you love the dress go with your instinct. It may work better with your ceremony than you think.
