Ceremony venues

My wedding is April 14, 2012 in the Dayton, Ohio area.  I am having difficulty finding a place to get married.  We neither one belong to a church.  He was raised Catholic but is divorced and I am not Catholic.  Does anyone have any ideas for locations?  I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hi Katie!  Congrats on your upcoming wedding.  :)

For your ceremony location, are you looking for a church or are you open to secular venues?

Congratulations!  Are you interested in an outdoor setting?  The parks would be good options.  Would Carillon, Benham's Grove, Cox Arboretum, or Polen Farm work?

I would also explore the courthouse in downtown Dayton, Boonshoft, or the MetroParks.

I'm open to anything.  The problem I've been running in to is the amount of people.  We are figuring on 250 guests.  I've found many places that won't accommodate that many people.

I agree with all of DanceM's recommendations.  Outdoor can be iffy in Ohio in April, but it might be the best way to accomodate all of your guests.  :)

I researched a TON of churches b/c neither FI or I are church members anywhere and we live together which was a problem for alot of churches. We are getting married at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Oakwood. The pastor there is fantastic and super laid back and easy to work with. Not to mention, the church is gorgeous.

My family's church is First Baptist downtown...it's a gorgeous old church and it's huge.

The Schuster Center accommodates large groups.  So does Country Club of the North (Beavercreek) and Yankee Trace (Centerville).  All do a great job.  The weddings I've been to have been beautiful.
