Seriously H? Or whatever..

H texted me a little bit ago to ask if I wanted to go for a hike.  It's finally a nice day.  I told him not really it's been a long week I worked 3rd shift last night and have to again tonight and I really just want to be a bum today and relax.  So he gets home and stomps around the house giving me attitude for 20 minutes while he gets his stuff together cause I don't want to go hike with him (and the dog).  Now I'm glad I didn't go.
In other news: I finished "Cutting for Stone" last night.  I didn't really like it very much and had to force myself to keep plugging through it.  Now I need something new to read.  Any suggestions? And I think I'm going to take my nail polish off and redo my nails.

    Hi Loopy!

Hopefully if your H went on the hike without you, you were able to have some time to yourself and he will come back renewed and in a better mood.

I need a new book to read, too. My old library card is still valid, so that is a good thing. But I have a few bucks in fines that I am a bit confused about.

I just did my toenails yesterday and am about to do my nails. I am really bored.

Ugh Fi does that a lot too. Its like seriously?? You are so not going to woo me into doing what you want by acting like a 3 year old.

And I broke my Nookcolor, so I'm off to the store to replace it :/

ETA, if yall want to join the book club, I have Bumped I can lend you :)
  • I hope so.  I hope he enjoys himself.  I will enjoy relaxing and just chilling at home without the dog driving me nuts :).
I think I am going to start this book (clicky).  It should be interesting.

  • Sooo, about that Rapture....
  • Hey Loopy, what was the book that you had recommended a few weeks ago or more for me? With all the craziness, if I wrote it down, I don't know what I did with it. I thought I might look for it at the library.
  • Exactly Ghoti - stomp around and and slam things while you look for the hiking stuff we haven't used in 6 months.  That makes me think it will be pleasant and fun to go do something with you.  :)  If he'd come in and talked to me and been nice about it he might have been able to convince me to go.  LOL.  It is REALLY nice outside.
  • Missy - Was it The Help?  SO GOOD!

Ghoti - it's after 6 PM and i'm still here - does that mean I'm doomed?
  • Loopy, I do believe that was the name. It definitely rings a bell. Thanks. I am going to reserve it now....
  • H does that too. I've had a migraine for a week. He got tired of it after the third day and started grumbling about how much I was sleeping, about having to cook and clean the kitchen all week. Um, it's not like I planned to be in pain! Then he started grumbling about how I better be feeling better by tomorrow because we want to go to the drive-in to see Thor and Pirates 4. Again, H, not like I plan to feel like crap.

  • Missy - you're back in C-bus area now right?  Have you started your new job yet?

I sure am. I start my new job Monday. I am excited but a little nervous at the same time.
  • Jano - that stinks... I hope you feel better tomorrow so you will be up for whatever.

Missy - I'm excited for you.  Can't wait to hear how it goes.
  • Thanks, Loopy.

My co-teacher is a bit younger than me, but she has taught the particular philosophy the school uses. I hope to learn a lot from her and hopefully she will be able to learn some from me as well.

H comes home next weekend with the rest of the stuff. Right now, I have set up shop at my Grandma's house. Its as close to having my own place as it gets.
  • I saw your posts in the morning thread.  Good luck dealing with the family drama over living situations.

I am praying it won't be too bad. It is better here at my Grandma's than it would be anywhere else. I just pray H gets a job quickly so we can start looking at houses. If it gets too bad, we will get our own place, but not having to pay rent will allow us to get some bills paid off and allow us to save a whole heck of a lot.

Edit: I am just glad to be back and I know H will be, too. The past few months have been crazy for us anyway, so I am sure we will make it through this as well.
  • Loopy, I started reading that book this past fall and got distracted and never finished it. It was ok, but it kept losing my attention.

I hate to say it, but I would skip the E book club book Bumped this month. It was just eh, but it was short and I felt like I didn't get my $10 worth.

What type of books do you like to read?
  • Yeah - we really wanted to sell our house, but we met with 2 realtors and our mortgage lender this week and well... we'll be living here at least 12 more months while we get some bills taken care of and there is no way we will be SELLING this house in the foreseeable future.  We owe too much more than we can sell it for.  The good news is there is a decent rental market going on in our neighborhood right now, but in order to quality for a mortgage on a new house in the price range we'd like we have to pay off some other bills so we will still quality with 2 mortgages since we'll still have this one, even if we rent it for enough to cover the payment - if that makes sense...
  • I get what you are saying. It is definitely a buyers market right now. One of my Grandma's friends is trying to sell her condo and hasn't had any success. She is doing a little more work to it so she can hopefully sell it this time around.
  • Birdie - Which one - the unlikely disciple one or Cutting for Stone?

What's the E book club and why don't I know about it?  I have "Bumped" on my "to-read" list, but I think it's been bumped to the bottom of the list - haha..
  • It was The Unlikely Disciple. Honestly, I would wait on Bumped until after you read the discussion. :) It just didn't have much depth and I finished it in 2.5 days (and I'm a slow reader).
  • Hi guys! I had my b-pics this morning, which I think went well, put together some of our programs, and am now just vegging, waiting for my friend to text me that she's on her way home. Her FI's bachelore party is tonight, so we're going to hang out.
  • Hi Jill.  Glad you think your B-pics went well.  Does your FI know or are you surprising him?
  • Yayyy Jill for your b pics.

I just took a nap. It was nice. No noises or anything haha. I also laid by the pool most of the day. glorious.

Now I want me some chick fil a.

  • Loopy, they're a surprise. She said she was going to try her hardest to get them back to me in 2 weeks, so we'll see. He may just have a nice after the wedding surprise instead
