How much were you eating after 7:30?? The only way to lose 10 pounds by not eating after a certain time, is if you were consuming a lot of extra calories past that time. And then it's not so much about the time you stopped eating, but what you stopped eating. You could lose those same 10 pounds by eating a smaller dinner, cutting out an unhealthy mid-morning snack, etc.
Late-night snacking can be a big issue for some people, so cutting out those calories would definitely result in weight loss. Is that what you mean by your post? If so, that's a great goal to have if it's a problem spot.
I work until 8:00pm, so I eat dinner well after 7:30. But it's all within my calorie allotment for the day. Weight loss is just math- calories in vs. calories out. Time of day really has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, I agree with crnota. Unless you were eating a TON after 7:30, then stopping eating then is pretty useless.
Yeah, if you have problems with over eating and snacking it's a good idea to cut back, but there's no reason to stop eating.
In fact, it's actually better for fat loss to eat a small meal/snack in the evening. That way you are keeping your metabolism up and running for longer. If you stop eating at 7:30pm and don't eat breakfast until 7:30am that's half your day without nutrients to drive your body.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I've heard of many people having success with weight loss by not eating within a few hours of bed time. Whether this is because we are more likely to overeat in the evening, or for some other reason, I don't know. I recently read a book that said shifting your calorie intake to the earlier part of the day and not eating within a few hours of going to bed is good for your body. The reason being that your body does it's healing and regenerating while you sleep, and the energy it takes to digest food is energy it cannot spend on the rejuvination process.
If you're having good luck with it - good for you!
I lost 30 pounds in 1 year by doing this, plus adding 8 ounces of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice before every meal. The acid in the grapefruit juice helps break down concentrated fat that you're about to consume. Regular exercising while doing this is key to keep your body nice and tone while losing the weight. I feel fabulous, and I want to lose about 15 more pounds before the wedding in August.

It sounds like you're on the right track! Good luck!
I did that combined with cutting all my meals in half and lost ten pounds. The secret was when I went out to eat I ordered my meal PLUS a to go box so I put it in the box as soon as I got it and I would choose a sensible meal as well.
This was one of Oprah's "tricks". However, it is obviously not applicable to everyone (including those who work 'tli 8PM) but is a good rule-of-thumb to make you think about what you snack on late in the evening, which is usually when the "junk" snacks come out to play.
Lol Yeah i heard Oprah was doing that but she obviously has issues with her weight since she fluctuates quite often. So I don't think it's really working for her.
It doesn't matter how early or late you eat as long as you eat within your caloric intake for the day. It's as simple as how much you eat vs how much you burn. No amount of magic trick ie, drinking all sort of concoctions is not the main factor as to why someone would lose weight. You have to look at what else that person is doing, ie if the person spends 5 hrs a week strenuously working out then then they walk every where plus they have a very active job then this also adds in as to why someone would lose weight if they are eating less than their maintenance food intake.

Sounds like a good plan!!!
