Engagement photo locations

My fiance and I are getting married in may and will hopefully having our engagement photos taken in a week or two. He is in the army and stationed out of state but will be at Ft. Benning for a week. I am living in NW Georgia but will be going down to visit him. Does anyone know of any places near Columbus or Atlanta that we could use as a location to take engagement photos?

I think there are a lot of great places for an e-photo shoot in the Atlanta area!  What kind of look are you wanting?  Are you looking for something more elegant and classy or more laid-back and relaxed? I think if you can give us an idea of the feel you're going for, we can help you pinpoint some locations :)

A lot of people take pictures at Piedmont Park. I also offer this list up as well. GL!

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

I'm not really sure what we are looking for to be honest. I really wanted to have it at Berry College near my home but its a long drive from Columbus. I guess we are open to just about anything except too urban.

We did ours at Piedmont Park--I liked it because there are lots of different backgrounds there. There are stone building, gazebo, bridges, lake, trees, flowers, fields. Just lots of variety. But I think any outdoor locaiton is beautiful this time of year!

I loooove Berry.  I want to have a bridal shoot there, too.  Berry is the most amazing place for pictures.

I wish I knew of a place close to Columbus to recommend, but I don't.  Maybe you can just drive up to Berry.  Is it about two hours or more?  If your photographer sees how beautiful it is and how many wonderful photo ops there are, he/she might go up there for free... maybe!

You can take your pictures for free at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Midtown.  Your photographer will have to be strategic to make sure not to get other people in the pictures, but if you go in the morning there probably won't be too many people milling about and you'll get some great morning light!  Hopefully the orchids will still be blooming.

Don't know if you already had your engagement session done, but there are lots of places in LaGrange or Callaway Gardens to do beautiful pictures and it's only 20-30 min from Columbus!
