Wedding Venue help - Washington/Southpointe

So basically, we are kind of deciding between the Double Tree Meadowlands in Washington and the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe.  The Double Tree's package is more inclusive (i.e., cake is included [from a bakery I've never heard of, Krency's], floral centerpieces that I design are included, etc) but I haven't found any reviews on them really.  We're (hopefully) touring the HGI this weekend and I know people who have been to weddings there and loved them.  Has anyone ever heard anything about either place, good or bad?  I really like that the package prices are around $75 a person (and kids meals are $20) and I have to stick close to I79 for my FI's family members from Erie (who refuse to drive into the city, sigh).

Thanks ladies!  <3

  • When I looked at the Hilton Garden Inn, their minimum for a Saturday wedding was WAY out of my budget (I think it was like $20K). I don't know if that's still the case though. That being said, I've been to a wedding there and it was beautiful. Have you looked at the Holiday Inn Meadowlands? That was my second choice :)

<div>The Holiday Inn is now the Double Tree!  Hotels change names way too quickly anymore.  </div><div>
</div><div>Interesting about the HGI; they never told me about a minimum when I talked to them!  </div>

  • We are looking at both places as well. I have heard from many brides that the Doubletree Meadowlands is great! I have not heard anything about the Hilton Garden Inn so any information you have heard could you please share. I am still weighing my options on if an all inclusive would be cheaper then doing things separate. From what I have heard both florist and cake vendors are good, but I plan on making a meeting with them before I decide to book.

  • I'm Going through the same thing you are - I've heard J Krency's bakery is good but I always wanted the priory...I don't know. They don't have a wedding planned until march at the DT. I'd really love to see it set up for a wedding. I think it does suck the DT charges for the gazebo rental - I'm having my ceremony/reception all in the same place and it just seems like a way to simply make more money.

  • The minimum was on their website. I'm at work right now, but I'll see if I can find it. Another option is Rolling Hills Country Club. One of my BMs is getting married there in July :)
